After having some nice time at the top of Mahendragiri , the group started descending downwards to the base camp(Burakat) . There is no alternate route of coming down to the base camp, its the same route which we had taken while going up. So now the main challenge was how to control the bike while descending. It was our first time of getting down of such a steep slop, (remember going up is easy but getting down is never a easy). While coming down there was Anupam behera , Sajal bhai , Sugat Satpathy , Sandeep Mohanty and Taufique Raza and some of the infosys guys were also with them . While we were coming down there were some tourists who all were present at the ashram the day before and they were also returning to the base camp. While descending Anupam Behera made a wrong turn and resulted in the locking of his front tyre in between some stones and he was down on the ground. His knuckle guards and the leg guards broke. After returning to the base camp the sun had already gone down and it was somewhere around 5pm . So we all took our bags from the car and started our return journey, before we start the return leg some of the infosys guys had left ahead of us with this promise that they won't go much ahead as they wanted to cover up the ghat section before it was too dark. So we agreed to their words and they went ahead and after riding for sometime we meet them at a point where we all had our evening tea and snacks.

And then we all decided to move ahead and it was decided to have the dinner somewhere near berhampur, but the destiny had some other plans. While 5 of us where in the behind then rest all of us were ahead of us, one of the infy guys was overtaking a auto-rickshaw where a bolero coming from the other side hit him so badly that his right leg was badly injured and he was in no position to move and later on he was provided first-aid and then he was shifted to M.K.C.G Medical college and hospital in berhampur, then later on to Bhubaneswar apollo hospital where was admitted and treated for some 21 days. After admitting him in the hospital at berhampur we started our return journey as it was already 10pm, so we all decided to have some dinner on the highway and then move on. While returning to BBSR we meet Wacky Setu on the highway and from there onwards he escorted us to the dhaba where we had dinner and then it was straight ride in the night to home. By the time we reached home it was already 3am.

Nice beautiful place out there. Some are really great pics, however all pics are good.

Only sad part was accidents.

Ride safe guys. Hope both of them have recovered and gained good health and started riding.

For now, stay at home and stay safe.

Thank you for the appreciation. Yes even I also feel sorry for what had happened then.

I'm sure they both must have recovered and busy in there own life. But yes if I again get to meet them then it would be nice . Since then xbhp bbsr has been to same place many times and the place has completely changed by now. The road that leads to the top has been widened and now you can easily take your car , bike without any issue.

yes , both travelogue are old one.
But the 2 video link i shared are the ones of our ride to MahendraGiri on 25-26 January,2020 only.

Those two video are appreciated and shared by Odisha Tourism also recently.
