On a busy working day got a call from xbhp rider abhijeet asking me plans for the upcoming long weekend (22-26Jan) to which my answer was nothing much may be relaxing home or may have to work on weekends due to audit in office. His response to it was let's ride to ahmedabad attend Sani's wedding on 23rd and explore jaisalmer. He said he will call me back with the plan by late evening. Disconnected his call and immediately opened my calender to see if the leaves on those days are feasible. Finally the same evening plan was drafted and estimate was taken for the ride. Ahmedabad - jaisalmer - raan of kutch - udaipur - Mumbai.
I am working as a finance professional and getting leaves approved is a big task specially with audit starting from 25th. But in 2 days I was able to get the leaves approved and I sent the approval email to abhijeet with a big grin on my face. Next problem was my bike. I am riding an R15 from last 3 years and bike started giving issues since last malvan ride when the engine was seized on the way back near ratnagiri. A very close friend and a rider was kind enough to lend me his 390 for the ride, telling his mom that his bike is gonna be in the service center for some repairs.
Few days past by me and abhijeet were not able to connect with reach other due to busy schedules. Finally on 20th he confirmed he won't be able to make it for the ride due to urgent office work. I was left all alone not sure what to do. All I was thinking about is not letting the approved leaves go on vain as they are very hard to obtain [emoji16][emoji16]
I was selfish enough to cancel attending an office colleagues wedding in ernakulam on 24th due to ahmedabad ride. Now that I was not having company I wasn't keen to visit rajasthan as I have covered majority of it on my last tour but rann of kutch was left out. Santosh kardak and jaydeep prabhu (xbhp riders) helped me plan this southern escapade.
