Re: Ride to Shegaon
Thanks for reminding me of 2006 Shinde bhau!
You see, I had qualified for an engineering college in the lovely place, but had to back out since I wasn't eligible for CSE branch. I and my dad visited the place to coax the dean to get me into CSE branch since they were happy with allotting me ECE. Then they talked about donation and we left immediately. But we did roam around and July was a bit more green than in your pics.
Will look forward to seeing more!

Re: Ride to Shegaon
Let’s start this log with quick introduction about riders.
Aniruddha : Well that’s me, I work in multinational company, Doing 11-8 whole week, desperately waiting for weekend, to just take my motorcycle and hit the road. I don’t call myself biker, I am normal motorcyclist who loves to visit places on motorcycle. I ride humble Bajaj Avenger 220.
Prasad : Me and Prasad are buddies from college days, but he chooses adventure and take the job in merchant navy. His riding skills are way greater than me. He rides little pocket rocket Suzuki Gixxer.
Day 2:
It was rest day for us. I wanted to visit Lonar but it was good 110 kms from Shegaon and roads were not in good condition so it can eat up our all day and visiting Anand Sagar plan could gone for toss. So we slept till late, took darshan again had much anticipated Shegaon Kachori. It was so cheap there for INR 10 you can have 3 kachories. Then later in the afternoon we left for Anand Sagar. It was just 1 kms, ride form our room.
We were taking selfies and clicking pics. Curious kids came towards me looking at Selfie-Stick and next thing I know, I was stuck between 15-20 Kids. After amazing evening and then super awesome fountain show we came back to room and slept . Next day we have to wake up early and hit the road for home run.
Here is another reason. Why we came all the way here.
Day 3:
Left Shegoan around 6 in the morning. Maintaining good speed around 70-75 kmph. Dodging dead dogs in bone chilling cold. After Jalgaon roads became narrow and in somehow broken condition.
Special mention here is One Mercedes- Benz multi-axel bus . Prasad was leading and I was trying to keep up with him in broken roads. That bus driver was closely following me, when I say closely I am saying all I can see in my RVM is big logo of Mercedes Benz. I can clearly hear turbo sound coming right behind me. He was not honking nor flashing, just following me. If I overtook someone, on any condition he overtook that vehicle and the right on my tail. I lose him after around 40 kms once I got good road.
We took major halt at Dhule after that roads turned into racetrack. We went into distance covering mode. Marinating good 95-100 kmph speed, everything was seem so perfect, something has to go wrong.
I was riding ahead of Prasad in the 3rd lane, Prasad was in middle lane. I was somewhere around 100 kmph and I saw dog crossing road. I dropped anchor, with downshifting and throttle blipping I was in manageable speed. But in that reaction I honked, dog scared and turned back and he was right in the way of Prasad. Prasad dodged him by millimeters. After this even we took halt again, freshen up let the blood pressure came to the normal and again ready to roll. After this, ride was boring and uneventful. Just munching miles. And we reached Dombivali around 7.30 in the night.
It was most satisfying ride till now. Both the bikes performed well. I am very much happy about the performance Avenger delivered on Great, good and bad roads. It can maintain considerably high speed and shred it quickly if you know how to do it. And About Gixxer, well it is perfect package in 150cc segment.
In the end thank you for bearing with my not so good writing style and novice photos.
Till the Next Ride,
Ride Safe.
Aniruddha

Yeah, below average monsoon is the culprit. And this area is famous for drought.
