Somewhere on a group I heard 'Veer Dam' and I have no idea where it was and how it was... Being new to Pune, I am hearing about it for the first time... It has the least information on google as well, and that interested me... I could find one blog about the place, which describes it as a great place for bird watching... However I made up by mind to ride to Veer Dam irrespective of the reviews or information...
25th January Night, I have decided to ride 'Veer Dam' solo for multiple reasons.
Day: 26th January 2016
I decided I will wake up late, by 7AM, to start preps and get on the saddle by 730AM (Hell Yeah, Bachelor life!!! ) God had different plans for me, and this happens only once a year that I woke up before the alarm at 6AM. I cant sleep when I want to... I peeped out of my transparent balcony and still it was dark, I am not a big fan of riding in dark or twilight, so I wanted to see the first sun shine before getting started... As I planned sunrise started at 645AM and I started the ride by 730AM...
Being done the idling, machine responded well... Forgot to tell you that my ride is Yellow 'Pulsar RS200 ABS.. I categorise it as a sports tourer because of the comfortable stance and yet mastery in cornering... Owners can relate to me. This time as I am riding solo yet again, I decided I will have multiple stops for pictures... Few pics during the ride...
At the start of the ride... I am glad I wake up to this view daily...

Just before Sorla... This place offers unlimited buffet breakfast, I didnt miss it this time... Not bad though...

After taking left from Shirval... Country roads at it's best...
8:30AM Instead of taking left from Sorla to Veer Dam, I decided to to visit the place via Shirval to Tondal village only because it has a SH running through it... Before this I stopped at above place for break fast... This place serves unlimited buffet breakfast from 730AM to 930AM for Rs.94 (inclusive of taxes) and last time I couldnt try because I was running late... I ate a looooooot as I believe break fast should be the heaviest meal of the day... Even though I preferred street and desi food, this time I had a hygiene breakfast and yes ofcourse the amidst stares because of full gear... Hell yeah!! I am used to it now...
After this I took a left from Shirval it's almost 5km ride from here... Oh Man!! the road was toooooooo good... It's a newly laid road with no potholes or patches and hardly any vehicles at 9AM... After driving for around 5kms, I could see the lake and it's time to go off road... Once I am offroading, I could spot some cars here and there at the bank. Offroading is definitely fun RS200, but I could manage it now and then... I drove away from the cars or any people around, neither they dont want to be disturbed nor me...
Veer Dam (I saw no dam here, nor I was interested after the peace I found here.. ) is a good time to spend little time for sunrise or sunset... During a sunny day, you have to run for shade which you never get... It is said during December and January, lot of migratory birds visit the place and the bird watchers love this place... It's very true... I saw lot of variety of birds whose names I didnt know (Naam ke kya rakha hai) Sad I dont own a DSLR to shoot them without harm
