      @ The Monk
Few more insight needed from you.
      Please share your experience.
      1. Since you have ridden the Apache 200 in hilly region and with wet tarmac, please answer this.
How is the TVS remora tyres on wet surface?.
      Especially in ghat sections?

      2. You mentioned it had good mid range. So is it enjoyable on the Ghats? Can it climb without any fuss when there's a pillion as well?

      3. Regarding the handle bar. In old Apache, we used to get wrist pain after long rides due to some what committed position.
Is it the same in Apache 200 as well?

      4. Since the seat is soft, will it affect in long rides?(saddle sore)

      5. Any issues faced by you during the trip? Weird engine noises, vibrations, etc

      Thanks in advance.

        1. The TVS Tyres were surprisingly good. I have used some of their tyres before and was a bit apprehensive, but on the A200, i had absolutely no problems. The Pirelli option would any day be better. But this is good enough.

        2. Like i said, it climbs without a problem. How will it climb with a pillion on board? I have no clue, i don't like pillions

        3. The position is still sporty. I didn't suffer any wrist pain, but then i am used to riding a road cycle.

        4. The seat isn't too soft, it is firm. Which ensures that you don't have a sore bottom after consecutive days of riding as well. I didn't suffer any such problems. The only problem i had was being too tall, so my legs were folded up a bit more than i would like.

        5. No issue whatsoever fortunately. Like i mentioned, this Apache is much smoother than the previous iterations.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Wow, thanks for the quick reply.
Except for the top end, almost everything is positive in this bike.

I am sure that you rode a carburetor version.I have another question. :P
          Pls don't mind.

Should I buy a carburetor version or an FI?
Please share your views about both carburetor RTR 200 and FI RTR 200.

I'm eagerly waiting to buy this bike. But there's a waiting period of 3 months for carburetor version. And no news about FI-ABS.

And I'm stuck between deciding carburetor/FI.
I am not worried about abs because some auto news websites mentioned that the ABS can be fitted on to any version of Apache 200 at a cost of 10000-15000 INR at dealerships.
Si if this is true then I'll fit the ABS later.

          Please reply.
          Thanks a lot again.

Unfortunately i won't be able to help you out. I haven't ridden the Fi, so cannot compare it. But Old Fox who rode both the bikes during the review, did mention that the performance of the two was similar, the Fi winning clearly on a cold engine. Once warmed up, the carb did a good enough job.

Again, with ABS, i do not know when will it come or even if the non-ABS versions can be retrofitted. So unfortunately cannot help you out here.

              No problem.
I'll post here if I get some details of FI-ABS launch.
              Thanks again for helping.

Wanted to test ride the bike but couldn't get it in chennai...7Just wanted to ask few questions ...

                  1. Are there any serious vibes after a certain speed?

                  2. Is the bike good for touring ?? About 500kms on a single day .... Will it be a pain ??

                  Thanks in advance....

I went to the TVS dealer near my house yesterday. (ASHWA TVS, BANGALORE)
They have received some RTR 200's. 45 numbers. Only carburetor versions.
The sales person told they have made changes to the silencer pipe part exactly behind the rider's foot peg.
The change is that the welding was looking very bad, and now they've solved that.

I took a test ride and I found that there was a bit lag in the throttle response. Like as though the bike was out of breath for a fraction of second.
Did you find anything like that on your trip?
I can not wait for FI,ABS version and hence I am booking this bike in 3 days. (Carb, Pirelli tyres)

                    Please share your feedback.

On road price is 1,09,000 INR for Carb, Remora tyres and 1,15,000 INR for Carb, Pirelli tyres.
Includes 5 years extended warranty and all accessories.

Bihar is still probably less safe than other states, but it isn't as terrible as it is made out to be. Except just before elections!

Apologies, i didn't see this post till today.

                      1. Vibes are not very apparent at any point. Which is probably the biggest change over the Apache 180

                      2. I did 500km in day multiple times without any problem as such.

I haven't ridden the bike with Pirelli tyres, so cannot comment on the fact whether the extra 6k is worth it or not! But the Remoras were decent in the varied terrain that i rode it in.

Yes the bike I test rode had this problem.
But it also had very less fuel left in it.
I had read in some review that the carburetor version had some lag and because of that I got more doubt on this. Hence wanted your feedback.

Thanks a lot for all the help. I will share my experience once I book the bike.

The welding on the silencer below rider's footpeg was very bad to look at.
They've added a black plastic piece to cover it. Looks good now.
I'll share pic some other time.
