Re: Solo Ride To Western Ghats

Filled the petrol near airport in Chennai and i am ready to take off... My first stop is near chengalupattu after covering 67 Km. Here i needed the stop to clean my visor and then again my ride started and my next stop should be near villupuram. though it is Sunday night the traffic seams to be low so i had maintained a good speed. Reached villupuram at 2.50 AM and had a good tea there with Biscuits and then again started towards trichy after a stop reached trichy at 5.40 Am and diverted towards Dindigul

On the way to Dindigul i had to stop to fill the petrol and take some rest in a tea shop where they provided me a wood slats to take rest and moving towards Theni It is two lane road hence my speed reduced and had a mouth watering Breakfast near theni.

Entering Kumily Ghat: I am here only for the name Thekkady I don't know why I love this name after entering kumily ghat I saw a Waterfalls near road but people's are not allowed to go near.

At 10.30 AM I reached the Hotel and checked in( I booked through goibibo App really awesome discounts I got) and take some rest for an hour.

Thekkady:Freshed up it's time to see Beautiful thekkady. Though my Room is near Periyar Tiger Reserve I couldn't want to enter through this route. so I had choose another route to reach tiger reserve that is through Periyar Here you can watch Mullaiperiyar Dam & Gavi Lake. I headed through this and reached Periyar Tiger Reserve there I need another Five person to enter into the forest through Jeep (Private Vehicle are not allowed) I waited for some time but I couldn't found any so I decided to go some other spot. While travelling through My RE is Punctured. Here I removed the Back tyre myself and caught an auto and went to puncutre shop and fixed it after two hours and I decided to Travel Parunthampara (Fantastic View Point)...

After Viewing this view point I came to room though the road is really tough I have to be back before sun light set....

On the way back to Room From Paruthampara

After the Night meal its time to get good rest. Every gadgets are pin to charge...

Time to Travel Munnar via Idukki Dam :Wake up, Freshed up time to move idukki dam the road was fantastic. The sun light up to the head so hot in the morning. so I have to stop for every 20-30 km to recharge myself. In kerala the lemon soda is yummy. En-route I tasted so many varieties of fruits from local shops and also their hospitality is nice.Reached Idukki dam but the dam is closed in weekdays It's opened only in weekends. But I clicked photos from long distance..

Started Towards Munnar :*After Idukki the road is not so good, the patches laid all the way and it's too hot till munnar. I booked a home-stay near attukal waterfalls in goibibo app but when i reach there i feel the place is not good to stay, not maintained so I cancelled the home-stay went to Munnar town and get a good deal from SJ Residency at 1.30 Am. checked Inn everything OK now time to have lunch and then want to see places around here. Had Lunch and then started towards Eravikulam National park after few minutes it started Raining though i kept my jacket in room again moved towards Hotel and again to eravikulam there I found a Long Que so I decided to not waste much time in Q and headed towards top station 35 km from munnar. Awesmotic curves, uphill, rain, *cloud, cold awesome feelings...

After Visiting so many places came to Hotel and had dinner. It's too chill here. roaming in the streets till night and went to sleep...

Athripally Waterfalls:*Wake up with hot tea and it's time to move Athripally waterfalls. Everything packed, the route should be via kothamangalam and kodanad A less traveled route into the forest...

The Route with everywhere the signs of Elephant. A 138 km stretch full of rubber plantations and less light. There are no roads too you can only spot some lorry that too till some kilometers after that you and nature should be left alone. After entering forest check post signed with all my details they too told me to go back and take chalkudy route but i refused traveled through the route. In some places i hear the elephant roar sound too and after exiting the another forest check post and i hand over the slip that provided in the First check post. In the meanwhile only 5 vehicles passed through this route in 6 hours. The forest ranger asked about my trip and sends me with smile and reached my resorts.

Wonderful Resort in the Athripally with nice hospitality and the restaurant was awesome they take special care about you. We had a wonderful dinner and breakfast there..

I couldn't stop me from taking bath in the Falls and it started rainy after an hour. Then I moved to*vazhachal waterfalls to click some pic..

Then went to Resort, had a hot coffee and then dinner and went to sleep and wake up at morning with a pleasent tea and then a kerala style breakfast.*

Valparai Route:The route from Athripally to valparai is an adventurous route for all. I have to cross two reserve forest and a tiger reserve. In that you have more number of chances for spotting elephants and I spotted a group too in a safe distance. while crossing the curves i have to slow down to see the elephant is standing or not beside that curve. On entering the forest they gave me a slip with all the details and they mention the timing before that you have to cross that in malakpara check post. This is one of the most dangerous route in south India this 75 km stretch.

After reaching the forest check post It's time to move home hence decided and purchased tea powder and everything is set to move.

After downhill its too hot. the falls in roadside gives me a pleasant water and started to travel to pollachi and then Coimbatore to Chennai..

After Reaching Pollachi, My stomach says i am hungry and i stopped for a south Indian meal after an hour I started towards pollachi though it is two lane road and very traffic too cruising in an avg. speed and reached the NH 45 Highways till Coimbatore it seems to be rainy but in Coimbatore its raining so stopped at Toll get relaxed then suddenly seen a sign board to ooty.

my mind started oscillating and decided to do ooty...

After some kilometers in highway take a left to ooty and it started drizzling and stopped near tea shop and had a good tea ( I am a tea/coffee addict )*

I have been to ooty so many times so I decided to do it ooty-gudalur-Mudhumalai- Bandipur

I have also been to Mudhumalai- Bandipur but via Maisnagudi. Through gudalur is my first time and also i am excited to travel on those roads

Reached ooty at 7.00 PM and stayed at my Friend Hotel. Wake up at morning 5 Am and *fresh up and this time my friend also travelling till gudalur but in Four wheeler.

After reaching Gudalur a black tea farewell for us and I left him here and I moved through mudhumalai..

Had Breakfast near Mysuru and continued my travel towards Bangalore. while crossing Bangalore it started drizzling*and the road was traffic too at 1.20 PM reached Nice Ring Road. First time paying toll for bike and also first time experience in nice ring road and i couldn't find any difference but that road you can go 120 Kmph but you can't the traffic doesn't allows you to go..

Reached Hosur at 2.20 Pm and went to A2B restaurant had a meal and then filled petrol and time to move home...

After a serious Chennai traffic reached home at 7.20 Pm. Traveled 640 Km including ghat road reached home safe and back to the shit life..

I need to thank those guys who clicked pictures for me without hesitation
