Re: xBhp Bbsr : 2016 Independence Day Road Trip
Day 2 -
Started 1hr late at 6am. Picture with the owner of the hotel.
It was an overcast day but the road was beautiful with lush green surrounding. We were cruising and making good ground. Then as we reach the Brahmani river bridge. Guys took out their make-up kit and
Barkote - This is the same river we are crossing for 5th time. [Twice for lord Vishnu site and twice on Rengali dam and now once] behind us is the big reservoir of Rengali dam.

Overshot Pallahara. Few guys went inside the town to check for breakfast. We regrouped back inside the town
Breakfast in Pallahara
Sajal Bhai all alone on NH6.
Udhar Sajal Bhai wait kar rahe the and idhar we were busy fixing tyre of Saiprasad. Dual compound soft tires are very risky for our kind of road trip. There was no nail but as we rode last day on rough Chikni ghat, some sharp edge stone did the job. Few more guys joined us from Bbsr today. We regrouped at Pallahara.
Malayagiri - At 3849ft it's the 3rd highest peak of Odisha.
We were excited to summit it.
Khuludi. Base of Malayagiri
We came to know from the priest that the mountain can be trek but it doesn't have any path or trail to follow, one has to make his own way. Secondly cause of rain it will be slippery and dangerous, not to mention about the bugs. He also said that it will take 4-5 hrs to climb the top of mountain. Hence we keep the trekking for some other time.

Spot 1 done. Time to move to next one
Kanjipani Ghat -
A section of ghat is in quite bad sate. Rest of the main roads are smooth
This is the place from where we leave the main road and take a short cut to Gonasika.
We were warned by the police that there is a patch on road about 70-80ft where we will face difficulty to crossing it.
Met this sweet lady on the chowk. One basket cost is only 10 bucks
. Mousi ji ke saat ek pic to banta hi hai
Let the off-roading beings
First bike to get stuck in small puddle
We were like, this is the patch that police was talking about
Are Bhai sambhalo! Excited hoke camera man ke uppar hi kichad uda ke chale gaye.
Chalo Bhai badhe raho
After crossing 3 unmarked road one after another.
I said- Bhaut hua adventure mere ko phir se goom nahi hona hai koraput ki tarah. Please lock on the GPS.
Suddenly a small 4 wheeler came of out nowhere with quite a no of passenger and on asking they said the road is straight ahead.
So we move on again
Then we finally hit the patch that the police man was talking about.
If you can see in this pic before we cross the slush part Sajal Bhai is making his own way through different route and before anyone could shot him he was at the other end.
Surrounded by a series of valleys and wooded hills of varying colours, the place is famous as a centre of pilgrimage for the temple of Brahmeswar Mahadev established by the side of river Baitarani.
At last we reach Gonasika

This is the place from where the river Baitarani starts flowing. A little away from the point of origin, the river goes underground (and hence called gupta ganga) only to be seen over a stone projection looking like the nostril of a cow.

Stopped one last time to have a look around before we get back to NH 6
As we were having lunch in hotel Anjar, We met Sanjay Sharma [in between Siddhant and Sajal Bhai]. He lives in Badbil and recently had bought Re 500. He has decided to visit leh Ladakh this September. For past one month of so we have been in constant touch. As he came to know about our Independence Day ride he was very much interested to meet us on day 2 evening. And ride with us on day 3. Moreover he wanted to meet Sajal Bhai to gain some experience and knowledge about leh-ladakh.

Khandadhar waterfall, Keonjhar.
After saying goodbye to Saiprasad Sethi and Ahmed Siddki who rode back to Bbsr the same day. We started after the lunch around 4:30. And from here things got bit messed up. We got to halt for a mild rain for 30 min or so. Then after leaving the main road i.e. NH6, the team got divided in 3 parts. With no network or gps we were unable to contact each other.
I & Tarini Prasad Rath were at Kushakala. A local gave us wrong direction and we were off by 10 km. Then we got stuck in the same village for 30 min for heavy rain. It was already 6 pm and it was getting dark fast. We decided to head back Keonjhar and meet the rest of the team at the Nh6 T junction. While the rest of the team got the right path and went straight to Khandhar waterfall. Thanks to Sajal Sheth Bhai to took these shots in dark.

Now at 6:30pm I and Tarini got the call at the NH6 T junction that the rest of the members are at waterfall. As I had pulled a muscle in thigh I was unable to walk and was in lot of pain. So we decided to meet back at our booked hotel. We check-in hotel around 7pm rest of the guys reached hotel at 9pm
Total km covered 240. We ate your dinner and call it a day.

Re: xBhp Bbsr : 2016 Independence Day Road Trip
.
Last two pics - Again Prabanta bike rear tire is facing some pressure issue.
Happy Independence Day, before we start our ride, Indian flag ke saat ek pic to banta hai. On extreme left is the owner of the Hotel Prince
Got a nice treat from the b'day boy Vineet Agarwal. Thanks once gain.
Now can you see the small street beside the restaurant, well they have their kitchen on the other side of that street. So every time you order something in the restaurant, they scream their lungs out through the window to make sure the cook note it down
. [in this process one has to take care of their own ears
]
Sadly we had to say goodbye to Sandeep and Sambit. Do to some urgent work they have to go back from here. BY this time we were already late by 4hrs from our schedule start
Had to halt many times cause of random rain. This time we took shelter in a small school.
Finally we reached our 1st spot Handibhanga Waterfall.
Few out us decided to climb the mountain to have a closer look at the waterfall.
In ground level you cross a small stream thrice and you get a small pathway like this to the waterfall.

On our way back Tarini took us to wonderful small Dairy Shop.
We had this lovely Lassi [Odisha style rabdi-wala]
Then we move to our 2nd spot which is United Car Company India.
They collect Antique car and restore them. We had no idea it belongs to the Royal Family of Keonjhar. As we reached the spot it turned out to be a big Palace which is currently in use by the royal family. We tried to contact the manager but couldn't do so. As it was Sunday and over that Independence Day we couldn't get hold of any other personality. So we didnt get the security clearance. Missed the same spot twice in 2 year. Nu-ways we had to return back hotel to collect our belonging and head for home.
This time again Nikhil bike got a flat and made us late by 30-45 mins. We make a small stop in Dubri to freshen up with Chai and Pakodas. Then we restarted our journey to home. We reached home around 9 pm.
This is the last pic, thanks for watching.
