North Indian Peak Summer - Is touring possible?

Topic Approved.
Good topic of discussion. I have toured quite a lot during peak summers, although the destination has almost always been to the hills (whether it be summer or winter or monosoon season
)
It is a little daunting to ride in the afternoon. Hence, it is always advisable to leave as early as one can to avoid the heat as well as traffic. Keep yourself hydrated, don't over-do things and keep your energy levels high by consuming food rich in energy.
A little care can go a long way in making sure that you return home safe and sound.
Oh, and as for the answer to your question - Yes, it is very much possible to tour in North Indian peak summer season.

Of course it is possible to tour long distances in peak summer, especially if you are going to the hills. Take regular breaks, keep yourself well hydrated... something a lot of us do not do, and you will be fine.
Start at 0430hours, and do a Delhi-Bikaner for example, typical example of a 600km ride! You will be able to do it.
When you reach, it helps if there are the comforts of a cool swimming pool and an aircon room of course... Good food and net connectivity is even better to upload the trip log and photos... now I am becoming demanding!The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Ya !! It's very much possible..... Its always possible in hills but if one is planning in parts like Rajasthan, i guess one just needs to take some cautions & its not that hell of a thing.
1. regular breaks for water & lil food. Carrying a bottle is advisable
2. Don't over do the distance.... a break after every 80-90 kms
3. Keep varying the speeds. Regular high speed fatigues body much
Some other things to be taken care depends on individual, etc. Experts can suggest on thatsigpic

Yes!!!
Well, given for the Steed and the stamina, I am sure 600 kms would not be a very tough job. The ground rule still would be...as very well said by my Mates..... Give proper breaks to you and to your Bike, dont loose out on fluids...and Avoid stretching yourself beyond your limits. Cheers and Happy Touring!!!Originally posted by old_novice View PostIs it possible to cover long distances, say 600 kms., in a day in North India, in peak summers (May-June)?Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!
