  • My memorable ride borivali mahabaleshwar borivali

    Hello guys
This is Saurabh Kaneri, a pure bike lover, may be I am late to join this wonderfull group but better late than never, glad to be its member.
short introduction of myself from Borivali west currently working as Deputy Manager at Bank of Maharashtra, Mahad Raigad. Owing Honda Dazzler (my Juby) since dec 2011 and have many trips
    Mahabaleshwar
    Mahad
    Raigad Fort
    Alibaug
    Puna Sinhagad
    Malshej ghat
    3 times lonavala
    Matheran
    Vikramgad
    And many more to come
But firstly I will love to share my Mahabaleshwar trip
With my building friends on dazzler and ns 200
It was my second trip on bike and I have no idea about distance and casually asked my building freinds will go there? They said yes and 2nd satarday of december 2012 we departed to mahabaleshwar around 6 am morning from borivali Really exicted as frankly speaking we dont have idea about distance and planned to return on next day (sunday) to borivali.
    Route
    Borivali
    Panvel
    Nh14 till poladpur
Via famous jawli jungle to mahabaleshwar
    Borivali >jvlr>vashi>panvel
Fueled up the bike at hp petrol pump after crossing palaspe naka panvel.
Than our real ride began on my fav mumbai goa highway nh17, overtaking all of them coming on the way. After crossing karnala forest there was bumpy speedbreaker nearly unsighted by me and around 70 km/hr my bike took of like plane from speed breaker(but no breaks only held handle tight and straight )and my pilon rider shabbu was in air for all most 2 seconds and started hating me P: as his fav cap took off from his head D:
Than crossed vadhkhal naka towards nagothane > vakan phata and sukeli khind a small ghat section before kolad.
In this ghat section at slop I and my friend adi on ns 200 overtaked a swift with giving horn crusing almost above 100 km/hr. Than what as usually, the ego was hurted of the swift owner and he alos overtaked us giving horn and weaked look at us.
Than my friend on ns 200 raced with him as my dazzler was not able to catch the both.
After crossing kolad both ns 200 and swift were out of sight to me. At Indapur we caught them as the highway goes to indapur market.
There I saw funny incident that a lady from swift (sighted by me tail light breaked) was pointing and asking my friend to stop ( somewhat gaadi thambav...gaadi thambav... And my friends epic reply.....chal bhag.... Hahaha) and I catched my friend and he told chal bhaga bc, here I got fare idea that my friend ramped in broked the tail light of that swift during there race.
In that conversion swift owner got fair idea that this dazzler is his friend so he started to catch both of us. Than nfs most wanted game began, till mangoan he was easily catching me (kabhi vo aage aate aur kabhi mai aage jaata) as my friend ns 200 raced ahead of us.
Thanks to mangoan traffic, as swift got stuck there and we easily move ahead and crossed the mangoan and took left on a small village road where put our bikes on cooling mode , changed our clothes, our look and now our pillon rider took responsiblity to ride the bikes (lol.... )
Half hour consumed during the change and we came on highway again moving ahead castiously looking for the swift. Than crossed lonere > mahad> and arrived to poladpur took left to mahabaleshwar.
Around 2 pm we reached mahabaleshwar, booked a room, took lunch visited 5 6points in mahabaleshwar and than went to panchagani table land for sunset, dinner and slept.
Next day sunday again visited all points of mahabaleshwar and departed to at 3 pm towards mumbai.
Reached 5.15 at poladpur took lunch at poladpur as whole day visited points.
Around 6 pm departed from poladpur ( as I promised my mom that will have dinner toinght) we just cruised like anything on nh17 ( non stop) and reached borivali at dot 10.45 pm and dinner around 11 pm as i promised.
Wow this returnd ride from poladpur to borivali in 5 hours was hell of crusing by us that to on nh17.
    Thats it
Lot more ride stories to share but later.

Re: My memorable ride borivali mahabaleshwar borivali

          a negative post here:

are we condoning the use of such reckless riding? i know the roads that were used by you guys, and they are definitely not conducive to racing, potholes, single lane, blind turns, truck traffic...
Respecting the road is the mantra we should follow...
this was in poor taste in my opinion.

i hope you guys were wearing helmets atleast...

Re: My memorable ride borivali mahabaleshwar borivali

thanks for posting your experience. as i can see its your first post, i would like to welcome you on this forum.
i hope you guys have enjoyed. you might get goosebumps while remembering near misses, scenic and picturesque roads and mountains of sahyadri.
i am not going to demoralize you or stopping you to post anything on this forum

i had followed almost same route about 6 7 months ago.
i agree whatever Kos said. Best part here is, you guys enjoyed this act and you or your friends dint get hurt otherwise you might have been posting this travelogue from hospital sitting near bed of friend riding NS in totally different way.

sorry if i am being harsh, riding above speed limit on known road according to your comfort and capability and racing with someone (that too on single lane road filled with potholes and sharp blind turns with no banked turns) are totally different things.
at some point or other almost all riders ride above speed limit, that is somewhat acceptable. but racing with some egoistic four-wheeler driver is complete no no.
it might cost someones life including racers or others on road.

you and your friends have experienced and enjoyed road race, this experience is enough. i hope and wish you will continue riding and touring while promoting safe riding by your words in upcoming travelogues and actions.

            Thanks and Cheers.
            Ride Safe.

I can understand the excitement of sharing your experience here in this forum. Seems like you had good fun.
Others have commented on how safety is key essence. Kindly please use short sentences with full stop. I can see that English is not your forte. Don't take me wrong here, but expressing in short sentences makes it clear and exciting for the reader as well. And after typing the entire post, kindly go through it yourself and see if there is something that can be edited before posting.
In the end, its your story and we all love to read the experiences shared but it can be better than what it is here.
Everybody has their own version of TRUTH!!!!!!
