    Thanks for the detailed travelogue , as a prospective buyer of himalayan wanted to know how did you handle the gasping for air issue, thanks

        When we reached Leh a bigger jet was installed, post which the Himalayan didn't have any issues.

          Anyways to answer your query, after the initial oil leak was rectified there has been no further oil leak, though it took RE 2 tries to rectify the same.

                  Both are different bikes.bull 500 is a retro cruiser. Dominar is a tourer. If classic looks and thumps is ur requirement then go for bull 500. If performance and modern tech is ur likes then go for Dominar

                    Lovely Tlog, beutiful write up with wonderful pictures.

                    Wanted to ask which is the tyre which you are using in the Duke?
                    my duke has done 8k kms but in another 5-7k kms would be changing to something dual purpose or off road tyres, your input would be helpful in that regard.

                      I am using my Metzeler's currently. Unfortunately, there are no similar sized off-road tyre options for the Duke 390. You might find more options in Delhi, but try not to deviate too much from the stock tyre sizes as it will impact the handling & braking (ABS). If you want a slight harder tire option, check out the MRF tyre's which are provided with the Bajaj Dominar.

                        Michelin has an option for the front in street sirac I think but it will be an upsize and you will have to modify the front mudguard. Ceat I think has an option in the same size for the Duke

                          Yes, Michelin sirac is an option, but its a tyre which is generally used as a rear tyre and you will need to include spacers to fit the same.

                          Regarding the rear tyre, the Ceat tyre is not easily available - I had checked all shops in Pune, few had old stock i.e. 2-3 years old. Based on my search, experience - MRF's are a good bet as they will help when you are riding on good roads. Mentioning this as bad roads will constitute around 10-15% of your trip, but for the other 80% you will find the knobby tires a compromise as you will not be able to do the same speeds, which you would have done on the Metzelers.

                          So choose accordingly.

                            Wonderful travelog with amazing clicks. Loved reading through. All it did is that it confused me between Sikkim and Ladakh. :P
