Hi All,
I have been a part of xbhp for a long time, however I mostly read what others have posted and have contributed very little from my end.
This is my first travelogue, I might end up messing things up, so please bear with me.
My wife and I travel a lot. We have been to a lot of places like Mahabalipuram, Yelagiri, Yercaud, Coorg, Wayanard, Kabini etc.
My wife is very fond of Bollywood flicks, and in here we often see folks driving down the beach. She wanted to experince the same. Hence the search started. It seems like Muzhappilangad Beach was the only viable destination. The nearest place where we can avail good accomodation was Kannur. Searched for hotels and booked Central Avenue. Getting hotels was a bit of an issue as we chose the Diwali extended weekend for our visit.
The route taken:
Road conditions were good in most parts in Karnataka, however in Kerala and in the forest, some parts were not good. Since it was Diwali weekend, there was more traffic than I had anticipated.
Took us approximately 8 hours to reach our hotel. This included a 30 mins break for breakfast and 3 short breaks for rehydration and smokes.
Some of the places that we visited:
1. Fort St. Angelos:
2. Payyambalam Beach:
3. Cliff Walkway:
We were unable to visit the Lighthouse as its closed on Monday. The light house is adjacent to the Walkway.
4. Muzhappilangad Beach:
There was sparse traffic during our return leg and we reached Bangalore in 6hrs 40mins.
This brings me to the end of my first and only travelogue.
