Wish all XBHPians a very happy and prosperous new year 2017!
The start of this new year saw my wife and me on a road trip. As always we planned our trip a few days before the start.
One fine morning a received a text stating that Anora resort is providing Pearl member ship for Rs.10000 and if done before 31st December, 2016, they would provide 15% discount. So by paying Rs.8500, I am getting 3N/4D stay in a resort along with other discount vouchers. Booked the same from 1st Jan 2017.
Initial plan for the trip:
Day 1 -> Anora Beach Resort
Day 2 -> Trip to Pondicherry
Day 3 -> Trip to Mahabalipuram
Day 4 -> Return
However as it happens with us all the time, it didnt pan out as planned.
List of items used for the trip:
1. The bike (obviously as its a road trip) -> Ninja 650
2. Mobile -> Moto Z (used for GPS as well)
3. Helmet -> LS2 for me and Studds Ninja for wifey
4. Luggage -> Viaterra Rapide Saddle Bags & Rynox Optimus M v2 magnetic tank bag.
5. Camera -> Hassleblad HB4116 Moto Mod for Moto Z
Day 1:
We started of at 6:15AM on 1st Jan. Initially did not get any fog but the moment we reached near Ezipura, visibility dropped down to bare 50mts. Fought the fog and rode on (my left hand doing the job of a wipper wipping the fog from the visor).

As per Google, approximate time to reach was 6hrs 30 mins, however we did it in 5hrs 30 mins with approxiamte 40 mins of break for breakfast.
Other than the initial slow down due to fog, the ride was enjoyable and was easily able to main real good speed.
The tarmac was butter smooth which helped in maintianing good speeds. Traffic was light as expected.
On the way:
We reached the resort at around 11:40 AM. Completed the checkin process and went to our room.

Once we checked in, unpacked our stuff, took a bath and had our lunch. Took some rest and decided to go to the beach.
Since wife is a above knee amuptee on both legs, she was too tired for the day to go anywhere, so went there alone.
Hats off to her from my side for being so co-operative and agreeing to accompany me on a bike trip even in her current condition.
The beach was pretty crowded as it was a Sunday and more importantly, the first day of the year.

Spent about an hour on the beach and returned back to the resort.
The resort has a bengali chef, who was kind enough to customize the dishes to our taste. The evening was graced by Mr. Jim Beam, tandoori chicken and aloo chaana chat.
This brings us to the end of day 1.
