Plan fixed on Feb 8th, Since I am working in night shifts, I packed all my things and reached office by 7:30 pm. so scheduled to ride right after finishing my office work @ 4:30 am. Missing sleepless night before trip like other's here. Rest trip meter to 0 and clicked some photo's in the office parking lot.

Started at 4:45 and picked Adhi at this residence by 5 Am, he is already packed up and waiting for me to pick up. we are confused between two routes: 1) Chennai - vellore- krishnagiri- Yercaud and 2) Chennai-Tindivanam-Villiupuram-yercaud route and finally decided to go by route 2:




We took five breaks before reaching Yercaud. Enjoyed every bit of early morning ride, fog, tea breaks, coffee.


First two quick breaks at perugalathur and chengalpattu, didn't took many pictures of first two stops. Third break somewhere near Villupuram, had coffee here.

Had break fast at Road side hotel "Madhu Nisha" at Arasu, salem main road. Filled tummy with Egg dosa and Idli.

On the highway



We have decided not to stop any where until we reach the starting point of Yercaud hill, rode a stretch from Arasur to Kuppanur-Yercaud Ghat road, roads are awesome to ride until this point. we are asked to pay 10 rupees as vehicle entrance fee for Bike at Yercaud Ghat road. Paid after asking too many asking questions as we didn't read about entrance fee to yercaud, but finally paid and got receipt for it. Roads was not good though.

Visited first tea shop on the hill, lady in the shop was very kind and had tasty coffee and chit chat with her.

Only on this route most of the trees are dry and cut down, it may be of varadha cyclone but no sure. it continues until some point, but Yercaud top hills are full green.

We have reached Yercaud by 11:30 am. We had to book hotel, Check on Bookings.com and booked "K.K.Resorts" single room for 2 days @1,800 (price includes breakfast and coffee), Have to say room is small but comfortable for 2 people. they also provide free WiFi, billiards and the staff's are very kind and always available. It is very center to all the view points and very close to Boating house.

Restaurant on top, you can order Lunch and dinner here.


but I suggest you check "Thambi prabhakaran Hotel", they are special in non-veg foods, I really liked their Briyani which is cooked in "seeraga samba rice".
