Mongolia By Motorcycle
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."Deelip Menezes

Fantastic stuff again. When did you do this? Which month of the year?
The KTMs must have been fun to ride on those dirt trails. Though i remember being told that the KTMs were rented out at a whopping 120 USD a day compared to the Chinese bikes which were rented out at 10-12 dollars a day. How much did you pay?
I had gone cycling through this beautiful country and visited the White Lake and Khorgo as well. If you had more time then Khuvsgul would have been a fantastic place to go to as well! When you get time, do check out my thread about cycling in Mongolia

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

The KTM 450 EXC was an absolute joy to ride. They are more expensive than the cheaper local bikes. But they are well worth it.
More information on itinerary and pricing can be found at White Lake and Khorgo Volcano Motorcycle Tour In Central Mongolia on KTM and Yamaha Motorcycles. Fully supported and guided tour in Central Mongolia.Deelip Menezes

Amazing stuff... What an adventure!
Once I have donned my black helmet, I become anonymous. My face ceases to identify me. My black visor shields others from the rigours of my passing glance while shielding me from their attempts to peer into my soul. I am an anonymous rider shrouded in black. I am no longer a specific self. I am a passing Traveller.

Re: Mongolia By Motorcycle
This is fantastic stuff; awesome is an understatement and the beauty is beyond any dictionary adjective. Thanks for sharing! Mongolia is a must I see, especially after looking at Monk's travelogues and now yours. Man, there's so much land, breathing space, clearness, blue, greens and less manimals, which is a rarity in a population infested country like ours. I wonder what the busiest metro cities in Mongol land must look like!BENEATH THE REMAINS.........

Re: Mongolia By Motorcycle
There is practically one city in the country. The rest are small towns. The country capital Ulaan Bataar. We walked the length of the city in a couple of hours. Walked yesOriginally posted by chaosaddict View PostI wonder what the busiest metro cities in Mongol land must look like!

Re: Mongolia By Motorcycle
Mongolia has just three cities - Ulaanbataar and two others. Ulanbataar is the capital and has close to half the population of the entire country. Its a proper city with malls and nightlife.Originally posted by chaosaddict View PostI wonder what the busiest metro cities in Mongol land must look like!Deelip Menezes
