leh is the ultimate thing,its every bikers dream.. for reaching the dream,every biker shd 1st practice by doin small trips..
@rare-devil : i think the roads to places like mussoorie or shimla r better and wide as compared to other hill stations.. is it true.. coz its better to ride on such wider roads when u r in a grp with some new riders too..
i say shimla and mussoorie r the best options..
for shimla , first 200kms is a very smooth wide highway.. and the last 100kms are also wide and smooth..such roads r better to be ridden in grps as compared to say the delhi-mussoorie highway which is one lane highway.. plus kufri (16kms from shimla) is abt 2510mtr/8283feet above sea level.. thats abt 370kms from delhi.. i dont think there is any other place which is abt 370kms from delhi and is so high above sea-level.
rest it depends on wat all ppl say..
now wat we got to do is create a list of ppl interested to go..

Let's plan for a short trip first - after the mosoons.
Bunny has a good idea. Let's try it out first. A group of 6 - 8 will do for a start.
Bunny has the experience - he can guide us. Let's consider some destinations - within 300 KMs (1 - way) of Delhi :
Shimla - 343 Kms.
Rishikesh - 300 Kms.
Nainital - 310 Kms.
Well guyz, please add more to this list. Let's start planning.
It'll b a gud idea to go rafting in Rishikesh - September is the best time.
I've been to Nainital this April. We were a group of 4. (Noida - Nainital - Ranikhet - JimCorbett - Noida - Around 800 Kms). When it came to natural beauty, I liked Ranikhet better than Nainital - Nainital was too polluted, crowded.
Anyways, let's plan it now and be ready to set out immediately after the monsoons. It'll be green all around (and mayb some bad roads too, but then if u r going to Ladhak one day, this'll be good for you). It'll be better if we try out some less crowded, less known destinations, unlike Shimla, Nainital etc....____.~^~._.~^~._.~^~.____

Just make sure avoid rains.. If you are in group as I have had some scary moments while driving in rains on hills and especially in groups.
And bunny make sure everybody's brake lights are always working.

But my bike has just covered just 550 kms. (is it ok wid the bike which is in runin period)
as u know v r not gonna drive that fast on hills.
i can join u from chandigarh bunny.
the wheather is pleasent these days. but u can't say when the rain will start hitting u. wheather changes very quickly. suddenly u c black clouds coming and it starts raining. but this is gonna be nice trip. because the roads r nice and wide. their r so many petrol station on the way and so many shops for the refreshments.

Sure Amar but I still feel you should complete atleast 1000 Kms as you wont be able to control the tempatation of givin in the speed.
And you have to take it like a baby - bcuz its still in run in or complete run quickly...Comment
