Ride is over but one hell of an experience.

There was a slight change to the plan, we skipped Keylong & Went to Amritsar on the way back..
        Total Mileage 2,200 KM.

Hopefully the entire trip log will be converted from hard copy to soft copy in 2 days

Majority of them look to be on the way to Kunzum!

Mods: It would be great if we could have a new thread for this, for better visibility!

                The trip log Part-1

                Words by Vijay

                Day 0 - 31 July 2009 - Hyderabad to New Delhi
Started out from Hyderabad in the AP express to New Delhi. We slept most of the time. Infact, We three woke up around 1600hrs – Deepak obviously and exception woke up at 1100hrs. Me and Deepak had the Nagpur’s mosambi juice. I should say this was my actual introduction to the two guys – Rubin and Adi. It did not take long before we started feeling comfortable with each other.

                Day 1 - 1 August 2009 - New Delhi to Chandigarh

Reached New Delhi - Pahargunj Railway station. Offloaded the bikes from the train and started out to Chandigarh around 1100hrs. Surprisingly, we did not have much of a hassle obtaining the gate pass from the Luggage booking office. Last year it was a nightmare.

Luckily while filling up the bikes at CP, we ran into DP cops, out of curiosity one of them asked us about our plans, after that he was kind enough to Escort us out of Delhi, so CP to Sanjay Gandhi Transport nagar was done in flat 20 minutes.

Typical Delhi whether, hot and humid. The boring ride to Chandigarh on the much boring straight road had more surprises waiting for us. Rubin's carb had a problem and we had lost time in getting it fixed at Ambala.

With Ruben & Deepak trailing , it was Me & Aditya riding ahead & we decided to rip, we did close to 60 odd kms at 100+ speedss and Adi was definitely enjoying the hammer.

Reached Chandigarh by 1800hrs and checked in to a guest house in Sector 33B - courtesy Amit – This is a big favor - patient housekeeper and comfortable stay.

                Day 2 - 2 August 2009 - Chandigarh to Manali

Headed to Manali from Chandigarh around 0900hrs. It was a long day considering the pace at which we were driving. We only got to reach Manali at 2030hrs. The ride after Kirathpur was amazing, Adi & Deepak were leading and chasing each other with only a few centimeters between them

                Code:
"According to me this was the best part of the ride, double downshift, riding the power band, weight transfering..counter steer..i was feeling like Lorenzo...chasing Deepak" - Adi
We managed to find a decent joint Pine View - right beside the famous(!!!) Johnson's bar. We ended up partying at Johnsons. Great ambience, excellent music, tasty food, affordable bar menu and as usual we were the last ones to leave(thrown out).

Deepak did manage to get “disconnected” as usual – he drove away from the hotel at around 0200hrs in the morning - Just like that. Well he did return in less than 10mins. Not finding us waiting for him outside the hotel he successfully managed to wake up the sleeping receptionist asking him for the duplicate keys to the room. Considering that it was not a five star accommodation he did not receive the standard of service he wanted. “Panga” ofcourse … even before we could realize he shared some GYAN.

Despite all this, I would rate this as the best time we had on the trip !!!

                Pics Day 0-2

Just out of Delhi for the morning tea at 12

                Day 1 Start at Chandigarh

Chandigarh > Manali ( the Best stretch)
