Route: Delhi- Zirakpur- Solan- Shimla- Kufri- Narkanda- Baghi- Rohru – Chidgaon- Chanshal Pass- Delhi
This ride was a random plan as it had been quite some time out of our busy schedules & it had been almost a year & half since we have been in the mountains so the plan was to go to Kasol & Parvati Valley. One fine evening Sohail Khan & Syed Shiraz Ali bhai suggested that Narkanda can also be looked forward to. So we discussed & changed our plan to Narkanda. We also has a plan to cover Jalori Pass however we were still skeptical about it but then we kept that plan flexible.
Ravi on his FZ-25 started from Lucknow along with Zeeshan bhai on his Swift Dzire (a car guy amongst bikers :P) & Rishabh on his CBR 250 started from Jaipur. Delhi was our meeting point where we all met at Asad place to start our trip that night but somehow needed some overhaul n tyre change so Rishabh got his bike serviced at Fatboy Customs India where Kunal bhai was generous enough to bring back Bianca to its shape.
We left for Narkanda at 6:30 am on 20th May 2017(Hours late from what we planned), had our breakfast at Amrik Sukhdev & the food was yummy. This place was heaven for person like us who were dying for good North Indian food since we have moved from Lucknow. Once done with the breakfast we left for Narkanda & the moment we hit the mountains after crossing Zirakpur, the excitement of riding in the mountains was sky high but to our excitement the road is being widened & has a lot of diversions. Apart from diversions major stretch was good.
We reached Avinash bhai’s place at Wild Himalaya Glamping Camp. where we had accommodation planned. This place is a camping site & the food is really nice. Located near Tanu Jubbal Lake enchants you with the mesmerizing view of the apple orchards, beautiful valley, its flora & fauna & Hatu Peak. Avinash bhai being a biker himself had ensured that all that you require for a comfortable stay is available here. The weather was cool & at bonfire we asked him was should we plan for the 2nd day. It was him who suggested Chanshal Pass which was around 110 kms. from there.
We started for Chanshal in the morning & had a clear picture that it will be a difficult ride but we were fine with it. The road was bad (ideally there were no roads at all) with gravel & slush. None of our bikes were prepared for such a surprise. This route took us through the amazing landscapes & dense forests. The road condition restricted us to go beyond 20kmph for most of the time. After a challenging ride, rain & hailstorm, we finally reached Chanshal Pass. The view at the top was magnificent. We had maggi at the shop there clicked some photographs & had some interaction with the locals there. We even had some conversation regarding the trek routes nearby. When we were about to leave, we realized that we have to go through the same torture & after riding for some 5-6 hours we reached Narkanda. Honestly our bikes (Cbr 250, FZ-25, Duke 390 & Classic 350) copped up with those bad road better than us.
Next day we left for day for which Avinash bhai suggest us to take the route via Kufri & Chail which again was a treat to our eyes & the twisties were really good to ride on. Reached Zikarpur & coincidently Naman was riding to Delhi from Jalandhar. We took our meals in Zirakpur & returned**
** Ending … vo kaun sunna chahta hai. Nobody like to go back to their old boring routine.
