    Mecca for riders:Kolli Hills

    70 hair pin bends is what attracted the riders to this place. I did read about this may be an year back on xBhp. Have been waiting for this ride long enough to. Co-riders company, family commitments, personal commitments after fulfilling all these we get few weekends to plan for rides. Planned date was 22/23 then came postponement, broken hearts to one of my buddy, finally 29th July was the date myself and my 1st time riding buddy Praveen started from Hour road. Beautiful roads, agriculture fields on both sides, best site for a rider.

      The twists, the curves, the rush of adrenaline with a word of caution that's how it is.Probably not the best time of the year but nevertheless there is dearth of excitement. Probably many of you her might have done this already and few might have done it in many seasons this was my 1st time @ Kolli Hills.
      As always excited about the ride woke up around 4 am in the morning finished my morning rituals, packed everything needed for the ride and started around 5:20am, reached our meeting point Hebbagodi bus stand around 6:10 am.It was a cloudy morning not overcast as it used to be in the month of July, no rains soaring temperatures that's how weather in Bangalore has changed. As usual briefed about our simple group ride instructions, breaks every hour, cruise @ easy pace and keep watching mirror not to go too far away from co-riders. This was my 1st ride with my new gadget gopro so sooper exited after purchasing all accessories. Hour road as usual busy road till Krishnagiri with lots of trucks and busses. Plan was to break for breakfast after an hour riding some where near Krishnagiri. Me being veggie stopped at Sarvana Bhavana hotel. Took a 30 min breakfast break. Breakfast and tea gives me Maximum energy to ride on highway hotels breakfast are great motivation factors for riding. Started cruising towards Salem our next stop where we needed to careful to get onto right road to continue on NH44. As usual after talking to few locals in broken Tamil thanks to my Tamil friends and Tamil movies that I watched, the road took proved wrong, went round about few roads and wasted a our 15 min till getting onto right road. Our next destination was Rasipuram which is a deviation from NH44 about 30 kms from Salem one needs to be careful and locals are best guide better not to believe Google maps some times. After taking deviation from NH44 we started to tide towards Karavalli the small village on the foot hills from where ascent begins. Beautiful roads all through the journey not a single patch of bad roads full credit to TN government for maintaining roads. Agricultural fields both sides of road welcome you the best sight for a person like me coming from concrete jungle. I have always been craving for such places since my childhood.
