After being a silent spectator on this forum, here I am penning down my 1st travelogue on the Forum. So, before I begin please pardon me for the errors, if any.

Prologue:
Ever since I had moved to Bangalore, exploring south has always been the platter available to digest, and not having enough leaves has been the best bummer to not quench my thirst!

So here is the first travelogue and ride of this year ������

21-Jan-2018 - Sunday
11.00am- It was just a sleepy lazy day for me, well isn’t that how Sundays are supposed to be? :P
And just when I was lazing around my wifey struck the conversation of going for a ride, just the 3 of us, Me, Wifey and BlackPearl. It has been a long time that we had been on the highways and spent some time soaking and enjoying the nature!

I tried making excuses like – it’s too late to plan or even venturing out this late will have implications while returning, there are no good places to go...so on so forth...
But that's when she reminded me of my crazy trip and idea to ride to Shravanbelagola, which we did last summer. That’s when we started to look at options to ride under 200 kms as we need to be back in time for office tomorrow and sparing some time for our bodies to relax.
Let’s Roll:
11.45am: Destination finalised: Lepakshi, AP - 118kms from home.
(a bit background: I always wanted to visit this place mere for the fact of the open roads with less traffic that this stretch has to offer, has been an eye catcher for me). Now the easiest task, just get going!
Had some breakfast, filled the tank bag with minimum necessities and all set to go.

12.00pm: We started the ride towards Lepakshi from Bangalore and in next 20mins time, we were on the highway, out of the city traffic.
The route taken was: Hebbal - NH44 (NH7 also joins in) - Lepakshi and same route back home.


Scarce traffic on highway (after and before crossing airport). The roads are butter smooth and the feel of air gently blowing on your face, the throbbing, machine, and a lady that loves you, when all three are in sync with your passion, it’s a blissful Date!




This was my first time on this route and oh boy! I just loved it!
Timely breaks to capture some views. Now I will stop talking and let the pictures talk...








Saw these (below) pit stops which NHAI has constructed on this route. Spotted them every few KMs and on both side of the roads. Hats off to NHAI for such an experience. Not just for locals, but even for travellers like us it’s a boon to chill, gulp down some water and enjoy the view...Trust me the views around are superb!









Reached Lepakshi around 2.30pm. Parked the bike near Nandi tomb and decided to walk. There was a bazaar which reminded me of the simplicity of small towns with humble people. The fruits, veggies, consumables all so fresh and sourced directly from the farms nearby. Decided not to waste much time and quickly visit the temple.

Around 3.45pm came out of the temple and had some juicy cucumbers to rejuvenate the energy and striked a conversation with the lady who was selling it on the temple footsteps. I believe, its always fun riding and the main reason i enjoy riding is, it gives you the freedom to stop by and enjoy the local life (people, food, language, and what not!).




It was time for us to bid adieu to Lepakshi...and soon we were back on the highways!
The moment we reached highway, we realised we had missed the lunch. So, the hunt to find a good place was on.

It was around 4.45pm that we found a good restaurant, Hotel Swagath on the highway, but on the opposite side...arrrghh....had to take a U-turn. As we were about to reach the hotel, the bike struck the reserve mode.
Took a good 45mins break and had some food, which was ok to calm our hunger pangs. But kaapi was good and bill was a reasonable one (not too pricy, I mean).



And soon, we were back riding and reached home around 8. City traffic on a Sunday evening is a big-time pain...

Signing off with this beautiful view I managed to capture as the dusk was about to spread its wings and cover the earth with its blanket of darkness...
