^ : Yep, that stretch between Haveri and Chitradurga has two railway crossing and umpteen diversions! Damn..

It is also true that when you are properly settled into a ride, fatigue and sleep do play around, but only for a while. After a certain period of time, brains takes over

Hint : Nothing special about the pics, but one of them hides the reason for our stay in Bangalore.

I maybe wrong with regards to the hint, but the second picture of the blue Pulsar shows a leak near the side stand........ Don't tell me that's the hint????!!!!

                                Bangalore : Unforeseen Consequences

VJ and Nikhil were having their final puff before the ride back. All of us were certainly more relaxed after the bit of a break we got, also coupled with the fact, that the ride back was going to be in full daylight and no pressure of a deadline. I was clicking a few pictures here and there. Then out of nowhere, we hear some one call out "Sir,", all 4 of us turn towards the source of the sound.
"The blue bike here is leaking petrol". We move in , to check things out. Indeed , a steady stream of petrol is gushing down the left side of the bike. I initially thought , it must have been the overflow pipe, since we just topped up the fuel. Closer investigation reveals the petrol is leaking straight out of the tank. Wow, it must be a cavity or a crack in the petrol tank. It could not have been the case to begin with from Pune as we sure must have noticed earlier. Irrespective of how or when it happened, one thing is for certain, there's no going anywhere on that bike until the leak is fixed. By now, a few of the petrol pump workers had come over. One of them, made a laughable remark, that the hole may have been created because we might be using petrol with additives (xtra premium, speed etc).
Sandhu starts making a few calls looking for a trolley to carry VJ's p200 to the Bajaj service station.Unfortunately, the guy hadn't opened shop since it was around 7:45 - 8 in the morning. One of the fuel station workers gave us another reference and we were finally able to arrange for a transport for the Vj's bike.

We put all our stuff in Sandhu's car while the bike is being loaded into the trolley rickshaw. We start of following the rickshaw and soon realize its near impossible to stay behind the rickshaw as it was moving way too slow.So after verifying that the rickshaw driver knows the way to the service station, we move ahead. Sandhu leading the way with VJ at his side and me and Nik following the car on our bikes. After about 20 kms, Nik goes ahead and asks everyone to pull over. He mentions that he drifted off to sleep a couple of times on the bike , waking up just in time. He's too sleepy. He seemed to be acting weirdly all the way since CCD. Mumbled answers to questions, eyes extending to nothingness etc. Now, since Nik was too sleepy,VJ had to ride the P-220. I still think Nik made it all up to get a ride in the car instead of driving through the traffic. Well, not long after, we entered Bangalore, the roads were really bad and traffic was just unbelievable. The car drivers here, drove as recklessly as two wheler riders here in Pune. I was hoping for less traffic since it was 9 am on Saturday. Also, we couldnt slice through the traffic as we normally would because we had to follow the car. We didnt know our way around. It was a long slow wade through the Bangalore traffic. Well thankfully after some while, we seemed to have entered a more cosmopolitan area and the traffic thinned out all of a sudden and the roads improved. Also, there were better sights to see. I dont know much, but I think we passed the Chinnaswamy Stadium on the way to the Probiking showroom.
Looking at the bright side, we got a nice tour of the old and new Bangalore. Finally, after another turn we reached the Probiking showroom. The showroom was a busy place. All the technicians busy moving bikes in and out. We parked the bikes. We now had to wait for the rick to arrive. It was going to take its sweet time.We explored the showroom a bit. It seemed they had stocked some riding gear and even a scale model for a P-220 (which caught Nik's fancy).Pretty good. Now, I was beginning to feel terribly sleepy. I could just lay down anywhere and fall asleep. I wished the trolley would arrive soon. And after wishing like that for another hour or so,the rick finally arrived. We unloaded the bike and after a bit of haggling, paid the rick driver his fees. The local mechanic took the bike inside for inspection.Soon , they detached the tank and found a hole the size of a large almond. How could this have happened? Now, if you remember, VJ had just got his tank replaced, it was a brand new tank. The showroom guys said, they wont replace the tank, but they would instead plug the hole for now with M-seal, which should be good enough for the trip back. Well anyway, we wouldnt get the bike back until evening. So what could we do now, Sandhu offered to take us to his home and play host till evening. (Thanks Sandhu). After another short city sprint we reached Sandhu's place.Once, there we couldnt think of anything else but sleep. As soon as we got a chance, we just crashed. I just remember laying down on bed and then directly waking up 5 pm. I slept around 4-5 hours.Well, after we woke up, I still had a bit of a burning sensation in the eyes and all of us had started to experience a bit of body pain. The reaction had started. The excitement and the resolution to complete the saddle sore had made us stretch beyond our physical limit, numbing our senses. Now, the stretch was coiling back.

Meanwhile, Nikhil had to meet his friend, Tohan, who was working in Bangalore. He decided to stay over at his place. Now since ,we had to leave tomorrow evening, we though it makes sense for all of us to go over to Tohan's place. VJ now had to leave to pick his bike up from the showroom. He went along with Sandhu to the showroom.
Nikhil asked Tohan to come meet us at Sandhu's place. Soon after, Tohan arrived. After introductions and chatting for a while with Tohan, we saw VJ come back on his bike. Tohan was to lead us back to his place. So we packed up our stuff , suited up. Bid farewell to Sandhu and his family and were on our way behind Tohan. It was almost 6:30 , we left and as Sandhu warned we ran in to some busy traffic. Not too heavy bit rush hour none the less. We stopped at a signal (near McD I think it was) for a right turn. That must have been the longest wait for me ever at any traffic signal. The wait was eternal. Finally, after an eon had passed, we got the green to go right. That wasnt too far from Tohan's place though.

We parked our bikes and went up to his apartment. We unloaded our stuff , freshened up. We had the evening all free. But werent in the state to do any roaming around. Just a nice dinner and a long peaceful sleep before tomorrow's ride back. We went down for a bit of evening chai. I was missing that for a long time. Down there, Tohan met one of his friends. Now , Tohan was having a lot of fun reciting our unsuccessful attempt at a saddle sore to his friends , at our expense of course.Oh well, we'll see the look on his face once we DO finish it. None-the-less, we got a nod of appreciation from his friend. There were a few people on bikes down there, I didnt notice, but VJ thought he saw xBhp stickers on the bikes. I forget Tohan's society name, maybe Nikhil can clarify.
We went back up to Tohan's place and after doing some TP we left for dinner, on foot , to a local hotel along with Tohan and his room mate, Mohit. After walking for a few minutes, we came to the hotel, Blue Spice. Meanwhile Tohan also met some of his college friends which by induction were also college juniors for Nikhil. Now, Saturday is special day at Blue Spice. They play Ghazals live.
The only problem is, they play them at full blast. We could barely hear each other across the table.
I think the idea of music at an eating joint is to blend in to the background and add to the atmosphere. Here it was just hogging the whole audio bandwidth.Well we relocated to a place farther away from the singer none of us were apparently very much in to Ghazals.Soon the food and drinks started to flow. By the time we snapped from our relaxed stupor , it was too late. It was quite late, dont remember the time. After saying good bye to other people who had joined us at the table, we walked back to Tohan's place. I just walked like a zombie towards the bed, keeled over and surrendered my self to the sweet and overwhelming embrace of sleep.
