  • Spider was ridin the unicorn & i became a pillion. I had come straight from office & Wednesday also was a sleepless night. So as always I was sitting as a pillion & in my dreams ridding the Ducati or may be kissing it. The stretch ahead was under construction, 6 lane highway in progress. The traffic was a bit annoying at night but it is sometime the only thing that keeps u awake at night. Ridding on highways at night is sometime a bit of a boring task, there is nothing much one needs to do than jst keep counting km's covered or looking at the funky GPS device on the hood. The Grey matter(brain) feels itz a useless wen it does the same task continuously & takes the task very lightly even if itz something very critical & then goes to sleep, so traffic is a bit of a good distraction for the brain to take some decisions. We had crossed Ankeleshwar by now & the traffic on road was increasing like the sensex but it was smoothly flowing. Then suddenly after some 30 kms we hit a jam, it was bad & as far as i could see there were red lamps everywhere. One advice for ppl traveling on this route during day, use the inner road from Ankeleshwar it is in good condition & ull cut the distance by 20km but at nite its not advisable. Using some city riding style we had come to point which was the cause of the jam. The scene was horrible & i realized how much risk is involved in our day to day commute. A Maruti 800 car was crushed by a truck on the GQ. It was a horrible scene, there was a whole family in the car, six ppl in all. Mom, dad, brother, sister, grandfather & grandmother all three generations. The truck had jst touched the car from behind & it was crushed badly between two trucks. Luckily no one was hurt but the grandmother was still stuck inside the vehicle. The truck driver was looking like a small kid, he was over 18 but too young to drive a truck. Me, winzee & spider stopped to see if we can help. We asked if ny help is required but as there were too many ppl & we didn't want to add to the chaos we left we left. Shiva was a km ahead waiting for us. This was seriously a horrible accident but luckily no one was injured. Jst a reminder to be care full on highways, sometime u have to suffer for others mistakes.

The road ahead was great. A 6 lane highway in front of you wht else do you need except a powerful engine blow you to push you to you limits. The road till Vadodra is really very good. Around 3.30 we took a break, we were somewhere between Surat & Vadodra. Had some water & Glucose, keeps your eyes open. Vadodra was around 50kms away. So 50 more kms of fabulous roads, no wonder why every Gujrati voted Modi back to power. After Vadodra there is a 6 lane expressway that connects Vadodra to Ahemadabad. As usual, bikes are not allowed on this section, we are used to this discrimination now a days. From vadodra we need to take the old highway most of the part is 4 lanes some some parts on this stretch jst have two lanes. Also one important thing, this part is the most rural stretch, i.e there is almost nothing here. Very few dhaba's almost no petrol pumps, be a bit prepared if ur here at nite. So one has to be really care full here. Ahemedabad is approx 100 kms from here. It was around 5 by now and the horizon was getting brighter & brighter by every passing km. The sun was out and we needed a break again, refreshing yourself is important on a ride. Shiva was a bit hesitant about taking a break, he wanted to reach ahemedabad. It was early in the morning and was getting a bit cold (Before it got really hot). There were some monkeys around where we parked our bike, really funny animals these are but intellectual too. Took some snaps & got back on the ridding. I was riddin the bike & spidy was again a pillion wid shiva. The traffic was increasing from donkeys to bullock carts, dogs to a milkman, tractor & trailers everything was back on road. But yet we manged to reach on time. We were now in Ahemedabad, technically on the outer ring road. A milestone achieved successfully.
