      Day 3 = 29th March, 2018

      Kanpur to Jaipur

      Total 571 Kms

Today I was very excited as I was going to meet my daughter. I got up early and washed my bike and lubricated chain. Manager of Central Guest House came and guided me about the best route to exit Kanpur city and also clicked a photo of mine with my bike & flag.

Today I need to ride from most polluted Cities of the world, ie Kanpur, Agra and Jaipur amongst others.

I could feel pollution while riding at 7 AM also. I passed most part of Kanpur city on fly over. At 7.45 AM, I took my first break.

At 8.15AM I had breakfast on road side hotel. I had puri sabji there.

Also took a picture outside of that hotel with my message flag.

Then I crossed Etawah, but then the road was under construction. I was on Lucknow Agra Express Highway at 10.25 AM. I had pay toll of Rs.75 for my bike also. For the first time in my life I was paying toll for two wheeler on NH. But the road was worth it.

      What a road it was.

Although we are not supposed to stop there, but then also it was too tempting for a rider who rides there for first time.

I stopped again at 10.45 AM for some pictures on that great road.

Agra was another 69 kms from there.

I could ride with will throttle of my bike, but as the wind was from opposite side, I could maintain a speed of 110+ for a very long time.

I really enjoyed riding on this express way. There was very less traffic and I could feel very safe riding at a speed of more than 100+ kmph.

At exit point near Agra again my toll receipt was checked. I was at Agra at around 12.15PM. I had original plan to visit Taj Mahal from Yamuna River side. I had planned my night stay for second day at Etawah originally. But I could reach upto Kanpur only yesterday. So I dropped my plan to visit Taj Mahal and moved towards Fatehpur Sikri.
But it was very hot our there and I had difficulty in crossing Agra city in that afternoon time. There was lots of traffic on the road and it tool lot of time to cross Agra.

At 1.15 PM, I crossed Fatehpur Sikri.

There were lots of dhabas on that road. I stopped at one and had roti dal salad.

I called my daughter and told her that I may reach at around 5 to 6 PM only.
I crossed Baratpur at around 2.20 PM.

The temperature was very high now onwards. I was having difficulty in riding in that hot temperature. I had to take lots of frequent breaks for drinking water. I stopped at a hotel for lassi. They offered me a water bottle from their fridge also.

Again I stopped at 3PM to click a photo of flock of camels on road. When you are in Rajasthan, you can see lots of camels on road.

Again I took a break at a petrol pump. I had taken two water bottles, but due to heat the water inside those became too hot to drink. I refilled my bottles at Petrol pump.
Due to flag on my bike many people in petrol pumps and pit stops were asking me about that flag. At 4PM, I met Mr. Gurjar ji of Dausa at a petrol pump, we had some discussion on “Educate girl child”.

Then I crossed Dausa. It was very difficult to ride at higher speed due to temperature and small dust storms on road. I was tired riding in that high temperature, but I used to think about my daughter and again I was excited to see her smiling face and restart my ride.
So it was a fight in my mind between hot air on road and my daughter’s smile, in which I could win over high temperature of Jaipur. I reached Jaipur at 5.45 PM and took the Ajmer bypass using GPS of my phone. I crossed Jaipur city and reached Dehmi Kalan at 6.35 PM.

This was my first view of Manipal University Jaipur’s sign board. I was arriving on my destination after three days of bike ride.

I called my daughter and told that I was about to reach. She told me that she is already waiting since an hour outside. I reach Manipal University Jaipur(MUJ) at 6.40PM and there she was waiting for me with a fruit juice and some gifts for me. This was the memorable moment for us. What more I could ask in that moment.

She gave me a hug and I could just manage to control my tears from falling. All my fatigue and tiredness had gone after seeing her smiling face. I was very much happy to be with her.

I had juice bought by her. I gave her laddus prepared my wife
Bina. Some of them were broken due to this 1801 kms bike journey. But love of her mother was intact in them.

She gave me those gift which she bought specially for me. I was not less than any super hero for her at that time.

She told me that how much she was missing me from the time I started my journey 1800 kms away.

She bought all this for me.

Each gift from her was very special for me.

      Then we entered her
YOHO Hostel, where a room was booked for me in boys section. I paid Rs.800 for a student’s room. We had dinner together at hosted mess. Next day she had a class in morning till 11 AM, then we had planned to go to Sariska National Park after meeting Registrar and President of Manipal University Jaipur.

Total kms for the last way were 571 kms.

This was my ride map for the day.

                          Day 4 = 30th March, 2018

Meeting dignitaries of Manipal University Jaipur,

                          then to Sariska National Park.

Total kms (in taxi) = 136

I had plan of going to Sariska National Park for 2 days with my daughter on bike. But due to prevailing heat at Jaipur I changed plan and booked a cab for Sariska.
Before leaving Cuttack, I had contacted
Dr. Vandana Suhag, Registrar of Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ). After learning about message associated with my ride, she had invited me to meet her after reaching MUJ.
Today my daughter had class up to 11 AM, so I decided to move around campus, and then meet the dignitaries of MUJ. We had breakfast at mess & she went for her class.
I moved around campus and gathered some fact about MUJ.

This is official web page of MUJ
                          https://jaipur.manipal.edu/

That’s me coming out of boys’ hostel area.

That’s my bike from Odisha parked along with many vehicles of Rajasthan.

                          That’s
YOHO hostel area of MUJ with a capacity of 7000 (5000+2000) student’s stay.

These hostels are opposite side of road with an underground passage. And on other side is Manipal University Jaipur.

                          This is iconic administrative building.

The MUJ Academic and Administrative buildings have been awarded 5-Star ratings by GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) making it the First University in the country to receive this honour.
Manipal University Jaipur campus awarded LEED INDIA- PLATINUM rating for Energy Conservation and Environment Design. It has 850 KW solar power.

Entire campus is covered with wifi and it is 122 acre modern green campus.

Entire education area is having a ethnic look and design

And entire campus is well maintained.

It gives altogether different feeling there.

There is a different entrance for administrative building with our National Flag.

There is a big library of 4000 square feet and it is completely air conditioned.

This library has about 35000 books, 1500 CDs/DVDs and subscribes to more than 250 journals/magazines in print and e-resources with many multimedia PCs.

The main dome of administrative building is having a big dome and there is a board room there.

I went at reception area of Board Members and told about my wish to meet
Dr. Vandana Suhag, Registrar at MUJ and Dr. G K. Prabhu, President at MUJ. They told me to wait for a hour as there was a meeting going on.
                          My daughter
Neha Sheth also came there after finishing her classes. We went to see the Board Room.

It was very modern and sophisticated.

After that we waited there for another one & half hour and finally we were called by
Dr. Vandana Suhag at 12.45PM. She appreciated my ride and conveyed her good wishes. She is very helpful person. She called students of Journalism and mass Communication to have media coverage of mine. She also offered me and my daughter tea and snacks.

Then we informed her that we wanted to meet
Dr.G.K.Prabhu also. Dr Prabhu is very popular among students. In fact he is all rounder and is a living legend.
Dr. Vandana Suhag personally took us to Dr Prabhu and introduced us. We were very happy to meet him.

He inquired about my ride and message associated. He also appreciated my ride and conveyed his good wishes. I told him about my ride to Manipal, Karnataka in 2013, when he was Dean there at MIT, Manipal University, Manipal, Karnataka. We took this picture as our moments.
                          Dr.G.K.Prabhu is a great personality.

                          Above picture was shared by
Dr.G.K.Prabhu on his popular FaceBook page/id. And it was liked by many & Time of India newspaper noticed it and took my interview on very next day.

                          Then we met
Prof K. Ramanarayan, Chairperson of MUJ also.

                          Dr. Vandana Suhag called up
Dr. Ramesh Kumar Rawat Sir and his students of Journalism and mass communication for interview of mine and media coverage.
                          Then I met with
Dr Ramesh Kumar Rawat , Associate Professor at Department of Journalism and mass communication at MUJ. He took my interview.

Dr Rawat Sir is the main person behind all these media coverage of this ride. He is very simple, down to earth and helpful person.

There was also a short interview of my daughter
Neha Sheth. Here are her views on my ride in short clips.

                          <font size="4"><a href="https://youtu.be/v3p0-2boFlc" target="_blank"><font color="#800000">

                          <font size="4"><a href="https://youtu.be/v4lAHzOaRzw" target="_blank"><font color="#800000">

I wanted to click few pictures of me and my bike with background of iconic building of MUJ. Dr Vandana Madam gave us permission for that.

After that there was a small video shoot also as a part of interview. That showed me and my daughter entering MUJ on bike. Here are three short video clips.

                          <font size="4"><a href="https://youtu.be/Y05ptT4pNp4" target="_blank"><font color="#800000">

                          <font size="4"><a href="https://youtu.be/mdZfo2RzGhY" target="_blank"><font color="#800000">

                          <font size="4"><a href="https://youtu.be/itxZz6z7kZQ" target="_blank"><font color="#800000">

Some memorable pictures were clicked there.

Some more happy moments with my daughter there.

                          Happy father and daughter.

And this was my favorite pose showing my ride mission.

And this pictures was published in Times of India, also became my FB cover picture.

                          Another one with India’s Flag

                          Yet another signature pose there.

Few more before leaving for Sariska.

Then we had lunch at MUJ mess & went to
Sterling Resort at Sariska National Park by hiring a cab. It was a wise decision as temperature was very high there, & I did not want my daughter to be in bike during heat wave.
We checked in at Resort. There were lots of peacock around. We were hoping to see a tiger on next day morning during jungle safari at
                          Sariska Tiger Reserve.
There was this photo in our room, which gave us hope for tomorrow.

This was our travel map for the day.
