    Re: Ride to NEHAsthan

    Day 7 = 2nd April, 2018

    Manipal University Jaipur to Fatehpur

    Total Kms = 679

So the time came when I had to leave my daughter NEHA at Manipal University Jaipur and ride back to Cuttack. It was around 6.30 AM, I packed my luggage on bike.

I can make out from her face that she was sad.

Even I was feeling sad, but had leave for Cuttack. Memories were created.

Now second half of my ride had started. I had to reach Cuttack safely.

It was around 6.45 AM, and I started for Cuttack on my bike, leaving her at MUJ to learn & grow in life. I was satisfied that I have kept her at proper institute for study.

Since I could not anything inside Jaipur City and I was on time, I decided to visit Hawa Mahal and pink city area. It was only 3-4 kms from highway. It was morning time and roads were empty. I reached Hawa Mahal at 7.30 AM only.

It was morning time and very few people around. I must say that Tourism Department had maintained Hawa Mahal’s beauty.

I was feeling proud to pose bike with Odisha’s number plate at Hawa Mahal, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

    Took a small video there…

And a last pictures of myself there with bike. And ready to leave for Agra and beyond.

It was known road now onwards. I planned to have lunch at Agra and then ride vie express highway. During morning there was not much heat and due to that I could ride with very few stoppages.

I had breakfast on the way in an eatery. It was Pakoudas and lassi.

Then I took next break here at 10:30 am.
    Agra was 119 kms away.

And Bharatpur was 65 kms away.

But God had different plan for me. Remember on 2nd April 2018 there was Bharat Bandh !!
I did not knew this when I started. But around Bharatpur there were huge rallies and protest on highways. Blue flags everywhere, protesting against a Supreme Court view.

(these are some pictures from newspapers of next day)

I crossed Bharatpur with some difficulty.
But main problem was in Agra. There was huge crowd everywhere on road with tyre burning, road blocked and what not.
I tried to reach at Agra Lucknow Express highway but could not. I tried to go via Bichpuri, Malpura and Rohta side, but had to come back.
Big trucks were forcefully parked in such a way that even bike could not cross the road. Protestors with blue flags were everywhere and all shops were closed.

I stopped at an eatery at Rohta area. I had lunch there. I informed my wife about this problem. I thought of staying back at Agra and start riding next day.

Looking at Google Maps, I could see another state road with goes via Shamsabad, Fatehabad , Bah, Kachoura and Etawah. From Etawah I can join my originally planned route. I talked with that eatery owner about the condition of this route. He gave me positive signal.
So I decided to ride on this new unplanned route.

To my surprise this state road was in very good condition. I could ride speedily here also. I stopped at around 2:00pm for a short break. Bah was 47 kms from here.

Riding further ahead, Fatehabad was having a traffic jam due to small roads inside town and parking on road. I reached Bah at 2:45 pm and had two glass of sugarcane juice. It was very tasty.

At 3:20 pm I took a small break near Kachoura. From here Etawah was 22 kms far.

Took another break here at 4:00pm, Kanpur was 157 kms away from here.

Yet another beat here at 5:40 pm and Kanpur was another 39 kms away.

Then I crossed Kanpur very easily and entire Highway had flyovers inside Kanpur. No traffic problem at all on those roads.
I took a break at 6.45 Pm between Kanpur and Fatehpur.

I was late but riding as per plan from Etawah onwards. I could reach Fatehpur at around 8:15PM.
Total kms covered was 679 kms for the day. This was highest in my entire ride of NEHAsthan.

This was my rough ride map.

I had dinner at Hotel Vishesh of Fatehpur. Talked with family and informed them about my whereabouts.
Next day I will be getting some bad & under construction roads, starting from Allahabad, Varanasi , Sasaram to Dehri-on-sone. As I was riding second time on these roads, I was mentally prepared.

        Day 8 = 3rd April, 2018

        Fatehpur to Hazaribag

        Total 585 KMS

Today I was aware that I had to cross bad/under construction roads around Varanasi. To be specific it will be from Handia (just after Allahabad bypass) till Dehri on sone. So I wanted to cover it as early as possible.
I took first break at RamJi Hotel for breakfast at 7.45 AM.

In the morning time GT Road was looking great. Varanasi was another 170 kms from there.

At 10.45 AM took another break. The GT Road was much better than expected this time.
        Varanasi was 37 kms ahead.

Then I crossed Varanasi bypass and was on Holy Ganga Bridge at 11.15 AM.

There was less traffic on road than I expected.

River Ganga was looking stunning from that bridge.

There was too much sunlight but not that heat of Rajasthan.

I also took a short video on my mobile there.

As petrol would be costlier in Bihar, I topped up petrol at a fuel pump ahead. I could get cold water in almost all petrol pumps specially those of IOC.

At around 2 PM, I stopped for lunch. That’s me as seen from helmet visor.

I had rice curd for lunch.

Again took a short break just before Aurangabad at 3PM

Gaya was 94kms from here. My target was to ride till Ramgarh before Ranchi.

I crossed Barhi at around 5 PM. I had a glass of juice there. There is road construction going on between Barhi and Hazaribag. I crossed Hazaribag but after that I had it was difficult for me to ride after sunset.
My plan was to ride up to Ramgarh, but I decided to stay at Hazaribag only. Suddenly I saw a hotel cum Banquet hall on left side. I turned back and enquired about night stay. I got a decent room there. The name of the place is
NANDAGAON Highway Delight Veg Restaurant & Lodging. I would highly recommend this place for food and night stay.

The manager was very helpful along with all staff there. Owner came to know about my ride and its purpose from them. He instructed them to take good care of me. I had naan & paneer sabji along with a glass of milk.

Food was very good. They make paneer from their own dairy.
I called up home and informed about my change in plan for night stay.

Total ride for the day was 585 kms.

This was my ride map for the day.

                  Day 9 = 4th April, 2018

                  Hazaribag to Cuttack

                  Total 565 KMS

Today I was to reach back home. Got us early and was ready at 6:45 AM to leave. As restaurant was not open yet, I decided to have my breakfast at Ranchi.
I took this picture of Nandgaon Lodge and started my journey back home.

As highway was almost empty, I wanted to cross Ramgarh early.
Just around Ramgarh I met some school girls going to school. I stopped near them.
I talked with them about my message of this ride ie
                  EDUCATE GIRL CHILD.

They listened to me fully about importance of education for girl child and now a day, higher education for girl child is necessary.
They even posed with my bike and flag.

I distributed them toffees and we took a selfie before leaving. You never know any girl among these could become some big personality tomorrow !

Moving ahead I passed through a road which had coal like formation on both side.

Looked as if the road is made after digging a coal mine.

I crossed Tropic of Cancer line and then Ranchi. It was around 8.50 AM and I wanted to have breakfast now. At the end of bypass of Ranchi , there is a place called Rampur.
I saw an eatery on left side and decided to have breakfast there.
It was Milan Dhaba and fast food. It was also written Jaana Pehchhana Family Hotel.

Stopping and eating breakfast was a mistake of this ride. I ate Puri Sabji and Amul cool.
I strongly recommend NOT to eat anything at this place.

I did not feel ok while having sabji. But somehow I finished it and start riding towards Ranchi-Jamshedpur- Chaibasa road.

While riding ahead I want not feeling well inside my stomach. At around 11.45AM, I stopped for a break. Chaibasa was 25 kms away from here.

just after 2-3 kms I felt like vomiting. I stopped and vomited. Felt so bad. I understood that I eat bad breakfast on that Milan Dhaba, specially that puri sabji.
I felt very weak afterwards. I took a long break sitting below a tree there.
I reached Chaibasa, but did not feel like having lunch.
I had glucose biscuits and started riding again.
I took another break at 1:15 AM after Haat Gamhariya village.

At 1.45PM , I crossed Jaintgarh and then Baitarani River Bridge.
After crossing Baitarani River Bridge I was inside Odisha again.

Panikoili was 172 kms from here and from Rimuli onward there will be very good 4 lane road till Cuttack.

Just After riding another 10 minutes, suddenly the weather changed.
Rain started heavily and I took a shelter near sub lane. I did not carry any rain coat or any protection from rain as I was riding in summer. I only had a polythene bag to protect camera.

This was last picture of this ride.

                  Rain halted my ride there.
This is a short video when I took shelter in rains.

As there was no sign of rain stopping or slowing down, I decided to ride in rain. I had no rain coat, then also I moved ahead. I kept my mobile and DSLR Camera inside polythene bag and started riding in heavy rains.
I was riding at a speed of 40-50 kmph only. Wind was also so fast that rain drops were hitting me hard. I was completely wet.
I crossed Keonjhar, Ghatgaon and reached Similia. Rain also stopped that time.
I stopped there and changed my wet clothes with dry ones. I had some biscuits there.
I reached Panikoili and then crossed Chandikhol.
But to my bad rain again started and my new cloths were wet again. I was riding in full torrential rain.
Just as I entered Jagatpur, outside Cuttack, there was power cut due to heavy rains.
It was dark and I was riding very slowly in rains.
Somehow I reached home at 7PM. I was fully drenched.

I could not take any picture of me arriving at home as camera & mobile were inside polythene bag and were kept deep inside main bag to protect them from rain.
I was greeted warmly by my wife
BINA. She congratulated me for success of this mega ride.

It was feeling so nice to be back home.

This was my ride map for the day.

I rode for 565 kms for the last day.

This ride was for 9 days & I have posted total 268 pictures in this complete travelogue.

                  This was
official announcement by Manipal University Jaipur for me and my ride.

                  Conclusion:-

So I request ALL those who have been gifted daughter(s) by God, Do make your daughter capable by highly educating her so that you don’t have to worry about her marriage.
Instead of saving money for her wedding day spend that money fully on her education. Prepare her for herself instead of preparing her for her marriage.

Educate her, teach her self love, self respect and confidence.
                  Make her capable.
                  Make her a better personality.

                  #BetiBachaoBetiPadhao
                  #Educate Girl Child

And my advice to all riders:-
√ Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly.
√ There is always someone who cares for you without your knowledge.

√ While riding keep your family members and friends in mind, & do not take unnecessary risk.

√ Ride with proper protective riding gears.

Thanks you all for encouraging and appreciating me.

GOD BLESS you ALL. Keep Riding and RIDE SAFE.

Coming up LAST ….. 16 newspapers’ coverage on my ride.
