You'd be crossing Parambikulam lake etc, another place worth visiting, and you'd have avoided the nonsense traffic at Trichur etc.

Let me read your log again to make sure I figured out the route properly.
We took thrissur route coz returning to pollachi via sholayaar - vaalparai is not advisable after 6pm coz of elephants. Also thrissur route is quickest comparing to sholayaar route.

    Is this vazhachal falls ??

That pic is not Vazhachal. It is Athirampally. THis is Vazhachal:

Ananth mentioned a forest checkpoint, after which you reached Athirampally in his log. That forest checkpoint is Vazhachal Falls. There is a checkpost office on the left (while coming from Sholayar), along with a checkpoint, and a small shop.

EDIT: You don't need to go to Valparai if you have to go to Pollachi from Athirampally. You can go over Parambikulam, Anaimalai etc. That to my knowledge, doesn't have any issues with riding/driving in the night.

Ya now i remember the checkpoint but we missed. I saw a no of cars, travel cabs stopping there but didnt asked anyone about tat place. Thanks for the info will visit next time for sure.

We can go via Parambikulam but as i heard from athirapalli to sholayaar is well known for encounters of elephant after 6pm. Also a week before our trip i heard a incident tat a group of elephants tried to attack a car ...tats also a reason

Did you get into the theme park on Day 3? Looked like an interesting place.

            Thanks for sharing.

Edit: I cannot see the maps anymore!

Well, Our plan was to cover Sholayar and Athirampalli and to ride through the forests and to come back via trissur which had better roads when compared to the sholayar route. Also as Thy stated, the elephants and poor roads made it against traveling through that route.

Also, what i heard from locals is that, vehicles are not allowed after 6 PM on those roads and the Forest check posts are too strict on that... Is that true ?

We did stop by the Vazhachal falls and indeed spent ten minutes there just opposite to the falls not knowing that there is a falls just opposite to the shop..

Also, we even heard the sound of the falls and enquired at the small shop - the lady asked us to ride down further to go the falls..
