    #TheRidePath | Day10

Day 10 and who knew it would be a looooong, yet satisfactory ride. As the trip progressed along the northern coastlines of Tamil nadu, we started the day at VRS College of Engineering and Technology, Villupuram. A studious student from this college was the first one in this trip, to have correctly answered my usual 'opening question' of every session - 'How does an engine work?'. I sincerely hope to discover more such curious minds through the #theRidePath.

After thanking the college principal, with his blessings we set forth towards the pleasantest union territory in the country - Pondicherry. The former french colony has some of the finest three lined roads and a few yellow coloured villas, offering you a glimpse of the past colonial era.

With few more precious hours left, we decided to make the best use of it. Traveling further south to the historic temple town of Chidambaram, we entered the auspicious sanctum of Thillai Nataraja Temple, Chidambaram - dedicated to the lord of dance, Natraja (Lord Shiva).

With one of the two iconic places of this district (Cuddalore) visited, we planned our ride to the world second largest mangrove forest - 'Pitchavaram'. Pitchavaram, being an ecological hot-spot, is home to close to 177 species of birds, attracts migratory birds from all around the world. Also the permanently rooted forests is much credited by the ecologists for protecting the district from the devastating Tsunami of 2004. Nature protects! Hope you all enjoy all the photographs of Chennai, Pondicherry and Pitchavaram... Re: #TheRidePath - 30 Days | 30 Colleges | 3000 kms

As a part of #theRidePath, we had an interview with the Superintendent of Police, Nagapattinam district. Mr. Shekhar Deshmukh, IPS has provided us intricate details about how the accident black spots were identified by a committee headed by himself and subsequently, the steps that were taken by the district police to strictly enforce the laws. This bold team of traffic police, even cancelled & suspended license when deemed necessary in order to bring awareness in the minds of the people. Tamil Nadu Police #Police#EnchantingTamilnadu

After thanking him for his precious time, we proceeded to EGS Pillay Engineering College for conducting our Safe Riding Awareness Session as a part of #theRidePath (leading the young riders towards a better tomorrow). As usual the session proved to be immensely satisfying for me, providing me motivational energy for carrying forward the message of safe riding to the districts ahead...

Students who upgrade and update their knowledge, through various available portals, are a true blessing to their respective fields. Yesterday, I got an opportunity to share my photography knowledge, techniques and stories to the students of Visual Communication, A.V.C. College.

Very happy to find these students taking an extra step in developing themselves.

Nice initiative ,even a few guys inspired by you to do safe riding is worth the effort especially since a lot of the college crowd think it to be cool not to wear helmets forget other safety gears.Well done and all the best for your efforts.

Energy - The prime source of existence. First source of energy for us - FOOD Ready for the Show.... #theRidePath#xBhp#TheHolyBiker #breakfast#food

Since the beginning of #theRidePath we have met 2000+ students, from 10 colleges covering 10 districts. Today's meeting with the Superintendent of Police, Perambalur District - Ms. Disha Mittal IPS was simply great. Discussions on road safety awareness and subsequent measures taken by the Police Department to avoid accidents and emergencies were conducted. #wearHelmet #followRules

With all of your support and wishes, we are now proceeding further in this #theRidePath, leading the young riders towards a better tomorrow. #xBhp#theRidePath #TheHolyBiker #iTheBiker #BikerLife

            ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Seen here in this picture is, Mr. Murali Rambha IPS - SP of Tuticorin district, in one of the meetings as a part of #theRidePath.

To expect a few traffic policemen to control and supervise crores of public is not only impractical but also impossible. Since the beginning and after 15+ meetings with SPs of various Districts, we have come to a conclusion that, even though there are law enforcement agencies, for their own safety, it is actually the responsibility of every individual rider to obey and abide by the traffic rules. #wearHelmet #ObeyTrafficRules #RideResponsibly

So far through #theRidePath, at xBhp, as a leading biking community in the country, we are doing our part to spread the values of safe riding to 2500+ young Students of Tamil nadu. We sincerely hope that the message is not only firmly understood but also firmly followed. #xBhp #theHolyBiker #BikerLife #iTheBiker

At the south eastern coastal tip of Tamil nadu - Rameshwaram. This wonderful place is an island connected to the mainland country through the historic pamban bridge. Built in the 1914, the rail bridge was the longest sea link of its time. Later on in 1984, the Indira Gandhi Sea link was opened in 1984, providing road way connection to the district of Ramanathapuram (i.e, to Rameshwaram) paving the way for lakhs of pilgrimage every year.

Rameshwaram, is the birth place of our ex-president Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, also hosts the memorial dedicated to the Missile Man of India.

For all bikers, travel freaks, Photography Enthusiasts, there is a heavenly paradise called Danushkodi. Imagine this, a new and smooth highway to the tip of India (hardly 13miles away from Sri Lanka), surrounded by sea water on both the sides. Exactly. A biker's paradise.! Here are the pics from the photo-shoot....

After some satisfactory photo shoot at Rameshwaram and Tuticorin, we proceeded along the east coast road to the southern tip of the country - Cape comorin, which is otherwise commonly known to the masses as Kanyakumari. The city of spectacular sunrise and sunsets, welcomed us late in the evening with a splash of rain. The next day after the safe biking awareness session at Rohini Engineering College, we had assembled alongside the 'Triveni sangamam', the confluence of 3 seas. Here are the pictures from the spectacular seaside. Also added few pics from Rameshwaram and Thanjavur.

Our next stop -'Tirunelveli' or the 'sacred paddy hedge', is a land of river Tamirabarani is built around the historical Nellaiappar temple. The road connecting Tirunelveli to Kanyakumari has a lot of windmills, offering stunning background for our photo shoot. The fertile red soil adds beauty to the photographs. Later on we travelled westward towards Ambasamuthiram and Papanasam- the beginning of western ghats. A hidden lake behind formed on one side of a check dam offers a view to cherish forever. Here are stunning pics from the traditional 'Nellai' region.

                  #TheRidePath - Yes... its Madurai

Clues about our next district? - A major city for two thousand years, a pandyan capital, mutton dosa and vaigai river.

Yes.. it's Madurai. Closely associated with the Tamil culture, the city played a very important role in preserving and developing the Tamil language through 'sangams' of different eras. The main streets of the city area still maintains the charm of the late 80s. One of the major food cities of south India, the place offers a treat to our taste buds through podi idlies, Jigarthanda and meat dosas.

We also visited Minakshi-Sundareshwara Temple & Thirumalai Nayak Palace - 17th-century palace erected in 1636 AD by King Thirumalai Nayak, a king of Madurai's Nayaka dynasty who ruled Madurai from 1623–59, in the city of Madurai, India. Here are few photographs...

Dindigul, a town famous for its safety locks, was our next stop. Be it the road connecting from Madurai to Dindigul or the road connecting Dindigul to Coimbatore, the views were exceptionally scenic. At PSNA college, the final year students of mechanical engineering were an enthusiastic and supportive audience, keenly looking for arming them with knowledge in the penultimate semester of engineering. After the session, the crowd graciously offered to feature in a live video which happened with enthusiastic participation from the students end.

The second largest populated city of Tamil nadu - Coimbatore, is an industrial hub, supplies nearly half of India's pump requirements and hence the name - 'Pump city'.

Coimbatore is often referred to as the "India's Motorsports hub" and the "Backyard of Indian Motorsports". Rallying is another major event with rallies conducted in closed roads around Coimbatore. Narain Karthikeyan, India's first Formula One driver hails from this city. At the lecture at Hindustan college, I addressed a technical crowd this time - Visual communication students. In here, I met One of the very interactive students during the #theRidePath. After the photo session with the lovely students, we proceeded towards Krishnagiri on the NH7, which is a smooth and sleek road. Here are some pictures...

It's a great initiative taken by you, to educate the importance of safe riding to college students, as its the need of the hour due to the rise in fatalities of road accidents because of pure negligence and lack of awareness. All the very best in completing your #TheRidePath mission
