Day 10 and who knew it would be a looooong, yet satisfactory ride. As the trip progressed along the northern coastlines of Tamil nadu, we started the day at VRS College of Engineering and Technology, Villupuram. A studious student from this college was the first one in this trip, to have correctly answered my usual 'opening question' of every session - 'How does an engine work?'. I sincerely hope to discover more such curious minds through the #theRidePath.
After thanking the college principal, with his blessings we set forth towards the pleasantest union territory in the country - Pondicherry. The former french colony has some of the finest three lined roads and a few yellow coloured villas, offering you a glimpse of the past colonial era.
With few more precious hours left, we decided to make the best use of it. Traveling further south to the historic temple town of Chidambaram, we entered the auspicious sanctum of Thillai Nataraja Temple, Chidambaram - dedicated to the lord of dance, Natraja (Lord Shiva).
With one of the two iconic places of this district (Cuddalore) visited, we planned our ride to the world second largest mangrove forest - 'Pitchavaram'. Pitchavaram, being an ecological hot-spot, is home to close to 177 species of birds, attracts migratory birds from all around the world. Also the permanently rooted forests is much credited by the ecologists for protecting the district from the devastating Tsunami of 2004. Nature protects! Hope you all enjoy all the photographs of Chennai, Pondicherry and Pitchavaram... Chennai, IndiaPondicherry Tourism Pondicherry Pichavaram Mangrove Forest
