"What! You want to go to Ladakh on your RX100? It's a 24 year old bike!"
"Why don't you take my Bullet?"
"I seriously don't think that RX100 would make it to Leh-Ladakh"
These were a few of the reactions that I would instantly get after expressing my desire to go to Leh-Ladakh on my Yamaha RX-100. To go to Leh-Ladakh on my Yamaha RX-100 was on my to-do list since a long time. The main goal I had was to do it with my beloved RX, doing it on a rental bike or any other bike was not an alternative!
I have been riding on RX since I was in school. In the last 24 years that I have been riding, I do not recall a single incidence where RX gave me any trouble. The only time I had to push it was either because it was out of fuel, or when it had a flat tire. So this year (2018) I finally decided to give the Ladakh plan a go. And as you would have guessed, I can still say that RX has never disappointed me till date! It took me to all the high passes - Rohtang, BaraLacha, Tanglang La, Khardung La, Chang La - in style. While over 90% of the riders were riding Royal Enfields, riding on a RX among them was such a joy and thrill. The magical sound of RX would make people turn their heads instantly. No other rider got as many thumbs ups and cheering as the RX got throughout the journey.
24 Years old and still going strong!
Our tour started in Manali and ended in Srinagar. It was a 10 day tour. It was a lifetime experience to enjoy the tour on the legendary RX-100!
There may be several threads on the Leh-Ladakh bike tour already, but I did not see much info on a tour with RX-100 specifically, hence I thought of creating this thread. If anyone is thinking to do this on a RX then he/she can get assurance that RX can take you to Ladakh for sure! So if anyone is thinking to go to Ladakh on RX-100, just smile and start planning

I can share details of the tour and pics if anyone is interested, let me know please.
