Badrinath Trip Solo
Ever since I bought the Himalayan I had a guilt feeling that I was not fulfilling its purpose by using it only for daily office commutes. Guilt could be a good thing. It is your soul's call to action. It is your soul indicating that something is wrong, something is missing, something is incomplete. I had a wish to ride it to the Badrinath on a solo trip. I got my window on Sep 29 and I started my journey from Chandigarh to Badrinath. I didn't think twice and started the trip without much planning or preparations. The road was beautiful. Literally every turn was better than the last one and the last one was already very good. What an emotional roller coaster ride it was. I will never the moment when I entered the valley entire valley was dark no sunlight, but the snow peaks just behind were shining like gold due to the lights coming from the sunset.

Re: Badrinath Trip Solo
Yes roads are pretty bad for two wheeler. The government is making char dhaam road wider. So you will find some patches(20-25Kms)where there is only loose gravel and dust .I can handle rough patches with no tarmac.infact I enjoy themOriginally posted by akshay View PostNice pictures. An impromptu ride sometimes works out well. The road conditions from what little I can make out from the pictures doesn't seem very good.
.One thing I cannot handle is dust/sand and what not that comes on your face when Trucks/buses are on the road ahead of you .Please avoid Rishikesh->>Srinagar route to Badrinath if anyone has asthma problems . At one point there was so much dust in the air , I could barely see the road ,it was 1:00 PM on a sunny day. It was like riding in the sandstorm with sand all around you.And to add to my adventure I was travelling using standard RE half face helmet . It gets worst at night . Roads are better once you cross Srinagar as of 30-Sep-2018 .It was fun . My eyes were red for a week after the trip thanks to all the dust on that patch of road. I will be carrying a full face helmet for such trips now onwards.

Re: Badrinath Trip Solo
That Half face helmet is a joke. I used it for sometime and it’s like a no barrier between dust and your face and eyes.. in my opinion full face ones should be mandate as they are safer and can better prevent dusts and particles hitting the face...
