      well, meri Twacha( read, Harkatoon) say meri umer ka pata he nahi chalta but 8 years back I had to put up a Bulb on my Bday cake in place of candles, the candles were costing me more.!!!

      The era am talking about is when we had to convince really hard our folks that we are good enough to take care of a bicycle, Mobile phones calls costed us a fortune, VCR was a thing to boast off and Maruti esteem was a Luxury car.
      Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

      Save the Tigers! Only 1411 (excluding ME) are left!

        Oh that era. That is pretty much recent! You are talking about Mobile phones!! I am far more ancient than that. Mobile phones existed only in Science Fiction movies back then! But yes, I get your point. You are pretty much of a veteran tourer, easy going. Veteran as in experienced. And you probably know every nook and brook of Lansdowne and Hrishikesh and these places and can identify with them.

        On a side note; I have stopped celebrating my birthdays! Too embarrassing.

          @sarab
          dude there r loads of options to stay in lansdowne. the best ones are the private hotels in the main market. the other option is the GMVN guest houses. and if ur takin ur girlfriend along the huts in the GMVN guest house at tip-n-top are da best!!! amazing place for a romantic evening. the private hotels give u a room for around 800-900 bucks with all facilities. the GMVN rooms are also for the same price, but they give you no facilities at all! not even hot water to bathe in the mountains!

          @everyone
          guyz my stupid mtnl connection was down for 3 days, will post the rest of the pics tonight.

              Ok.. so finally after banging my head against the wall a million times n pleading to the lethargic mtnl employees , my net is working now. So after passing through the village we headed straight for kotdwara. This is where the hilly region starts.

              Ravish on his avvy

              Some vella-panti

              First view of the hills

              Took a break just before kotdwara

              The hilly track from kotdwara upto lansdowne is some 45 odd kilometers and its really a pleasure to drive on this road. And with people staring at your bikes every now and then, it becomes all the more fun! There's a stream which runs down the mountains along the mountain road. We saw a small path which leads down to the stream, and without any furthur thoughts we descended along that path on our bikes. I never had the pleasure of sitting with my feet immersed in the cold water of such a stream, and that seemed to be my day!!

              The babes along the side of the stream

              Me and ravish with our bikes

              Ahhhh!! Heaven!

              We spent almost half an hour resting near the stream. I just love it when there's nothing on your mind, no hurry and no important work to attend to... and you can move at your own sweet pace. We finally reached Lansdowne around 12:30 or so and started searching for a room. Since the holiday season has started, so the town was packed with cars from Delhi. We searched every nook and corner of the town for a room to stay and finally had to settle with a room in a Garhwal Mandal guest house.

              This particular guest house (there are 2 GMVN guest houses in lansdowne) is called the 'tip-n-top' point guest house. This point offersa the most magnificent view of the himalayas. And like i mentioned in one of my earlier posts, you should go there with your girlfriend (or wife), and not your guy friends! since lansdowne doen't have much to offer to people looking for fun, we spent the entire day eating and drinking (just for the record, softdrinks ). the best part was sitting at the mountain side, with the amazing scenery in front of us, and having chicken soup.

              The view from the tip-n-top point

              The view at night. 2MP at its best

                I almost forgot to describe our room. Now this room must have been a good 400 sq.ft room, with four single beds. It had 5 doors and the roof was almost 20 ft. high! there were wooden slats on the floor, so whenever anyone walked on the floor the whole flooring creaked! Even our voices were echoing like anything. It seemed as if the owls wanted to play a practical joke on uss, and bloody hell they kept hooting all through the night! Boss puri raat phatti rahi!!!

                The bhoot-bangla.. rather the bhoot-kamra we stayed in

                The last pic in Lansdowne

                Driving down the mountain road

                We had initially planned of spending two days on Lansdowne. But since we got bored of it, we decided to go to Rishikesh instead. So as usual, and as expected from us, we woke up late and had a heavy breakfast (as usual ) and kicked off our journey.

                After covering around 20km from Lansdowne, there comes a spot where the stream forms a sort of pool. So these two idiots wanted to splash into the water the moment they saw the place. I personally do not prefer bathing along the roadside , so i decided to sit in one corner (and guard our luggage)

                Playing pakdan-pakdai, biker style

                Midway to Kotdwara

                Monkey man

                Since we started very late from Lansdowne, we reached Rishikesh around 4 in the evening. Checked into our room and rested for some time, and then left to see what everyone does in rishikesh, the laxman and ram jhoola. Rishikesh has become a lot more hippier place in the last 4-5 years, owing to the large number of foreigners coming in to find solace (you wish! ) Also, the place attracts a lot of beautiful chiks (just for the record).

                The best part of our stay in Rishikesh was the last day. We left at 8 in the morning to bathe in Gangaji, write off our old paap ka ledger and start a new one! Soon after the dip, we didnt feel like changing back into our dry clothes. So we just wore our boxer shorts, a t-shirt, our sandals and not to forget our aviator shades ... sat on our bikes and drove throughout the city as if our dad's just bought the whole city

                The babes resting

                The laxman jhula

                The holy Ganga

                Ride fast.. ride hard...

                I guess thats all about it. I've already started narrowing down my options for the next trip. Will be starting my career as a management trainee with Regus on the 1st of June. I love the company already. It gives us 25 days of paid holidays in an year.
