    Ride to Ooty .

Ooty , hearing the name itself a lot of thoughts often came to mind.
    11th May - 13th May 2018 .

Those three days were like one of the most memorable days of my life .
It was my first ever long riding that I did from Banaglore .
I did many one day rides from Bangalore, but the chills coming from this trip was just awesome.

A lot heard from many people and saw in Bollywood that Ooty is this... Ooty is that.
Also, the locations shown in our movies made me feel like I am at the top of the world now.

Going ahead, finally the day arrived.
Five friends, three bikes(1 scooter actually).
Me (Gixxer Sf), Sanjib my photographer(Apache) and our Akash bhai on Access 125.
Mayank and Ankita were also there as pillions.
As we already knew about the 36 hair pins for the climb to Niligiris.
Mayank accompanied Sanjib and Ankita accompanied me. (I got the advantage of having a GAL.)

Akash was leading us as he was solo and also he was the experienced one.

So journey begins here now .

11th May - Time 5:30 - Left Bellandur , as it was the peak season we expected traffic on Mysore Road , but it was actually ok and we drifted fluently till Mysore , by 9 AM , we were having breakfast infront of the Mysore Airport .
Actually it was a Dhaba in a Cold storage ,and its locaton was awsome same like the Masala Dosa and Coffee we got there .

After having the heavy breakfast, we maintained a decent speed and moved towards the Bandipur section.
By 11 AM we were in the Bandipur forest and slowly followed the speed limit there.
We were also actually driving slow, in luck to see some animals nearby.
Luckily we were able to see some deers, elephants and monkeys.

We moved ahead and reached Masinagudi, by around 12 PM, had a soft drinks break and now in front of us was the major journey eve though it was just 40 kms from there.

So , we left Masinagudi and reached the road which has 36 hair pins way up to Ooty.
This was the first time was riding on a Ghat section and believe this was the best ever experience for a person like me who loves to see mountains and drive in them.
We stopped for few clicks there and we reached Ooty.
As we were ,riding up weather became hot to cool and soon we were drenched in heavy rains.
Luckily we got a Tea shop and we were lucky to have it there.
When the rains stopped we proceeded to our hotel.
Checked in there by around 3.30 PM and started again to search for good food , luckily we got a restaurant and we were like hungry from one month Somehow, we came back to hotel as rain started again and finally we called off and slept nicely after tiring journey.

    12th May-
As decided everyone woke up early, had breakfast and left our room by 9 AM.
So the destination was Coonoor now.
We headed ahead , and we saw beautiful landscapes along the road, we crossed the Army camp in Wellington.
We got one Tea stall there in Wellington .And we stopped there for tea but photography session there passed the time so well.
I was thinking like we just need sometime for ourselves and we can live happily ever .No worries of office , no tension , no chattering no buttering.
It was like I have came here just to get good memories back, I believe it can be any place, when you are surrounded by great people time passes by.

So keeping lectures side, our Google baba, told Catherine waterfalls was the nearest destination.
So we started again and we got through very good Ghat roads connecting internally from Coonoor to Metupalyam road near the waterfall.
After 2-3 unsuccessful attempts we were able to find the Waterfall.
Its really a hectic waterfall, I was thinking "I simply wasted my energy for it ", but overall memories are memories .
Changing weather every hour and the greenery around just made me filled with energy.
So, I was able to do all the trekking.

Returning from Catherine waterfalls , we took the main road to Coonoor--> Ooty.
We were already hungry and thus stopped for lunch in Kotagiri, around 2 PM.
We went to a road side restaurant called Tea County .Its simply "WOW".
It really had good food deals , and withing 600 we all five were full.
They specially have combos at fixed price rate both for vegan and non vegans.
So , I really liked it.
Finally we left Kotagiri and experienced some good ghat road from Kotagiri to Ooty.
You can seriously fall in love with the ride as you can maintain decent speed there along with good cornering opportunities, I hope you all will drive responsibly.

By 4.30 we were in Ooty and we reached Wax museum, saw wax statues of famous personalities.
Then we decided to roam around the Ooty market, and pack our dinner and came back to our room to end the second day as well.

    13th May-

Another joyful ride starts after checking out of the hotel as we were to return back to Bangalore the same day.
We started filled our tanks and headed towards Ooty lake, but as it was overcrowded, we decided not to waste time.
So we left the place bidding farewell to Maine pyar kiya shooting spot.
So we planned like we will go through the Pine tree shooting location and reach Pykara lake, from where we can reach Gudalur and move further to Bangalore.
As the roads were good, we reached easily to our destination but the place was fully occupied with people.
So we just had the look of Pine tree shooting location remembered movie Raaz and moved further.
We reached Pykara by 12.30 had good time there , again a long line for boating.
I just saw the place and remembered song from Shakti , Amitabh singing Jaane kaise Kab Kahan.
Left the place after having some snacks there , as there were no good hotels for lunch .
Next part of journey from Pykara to Gudalur was just awsome with pine trees, tea /coffee plantations and superb road between them.
We were descending down from the Nilgiris ,so we faced a lot of climatic change reaching Gudalur as it was too hot there. We were still unable to find good hotels there, so we left the place and thought to cross Bandipur and then have something after that.
We crossed the Mudumalai section first this time and saw the same greenery and wildlife with addition too few peacocks and a bison.

We reached Gundalupete by 5 PM and had a long break for having food.
We took surplus amount of food at a dhaba and started our journey back to Bangalore.
We thought it will be maximum 11 o clock and we will reach our destination.
We reached Mysuru ORR by 7PM, we took a short break there.
As I had a lady pillion with me I thought it will not be a good idea to take the Kanakpura road, so we took the same Mysore Bangalore Highway.

It started raining after Madduru so I decided to stop as I was not able to see due to my worst Gixxer headlamps.
As soon we started from there, there was atleast a 5km long traffic jam while it was still drizzling.
It took us almost 2 hrs more to cross that jam and cross Channapatna .It was already around 10:30 PM there itself.
So finally we decide not to take any break and reach bangalore by arounf 1 AM that day.

Please avoid Mysuru highway on Sunday evening while coming to Bangalore.
