  • Of Peacocks and Potholes

    Peahen

Some shy and quick ones on the field

    Caught one!

    Predators in Jungle

    Few More

    Trying to camouflage our bikes

At around 0700 we started back towards Maltan. Here we took a left towards Sirur. We then stopped for breakfast at Aamdabad from where we gotta take a left towards Nighoj. Breakfast had a very limited menu , vada pao , bhajia and tea. At around 0800 we left for Nighoj. After 12 kms ahead we took a right after crossing the village Takli-Haji village. From here Nighoj is hardly 5 kms away. We stopped near the eroded rock area , known as the Potholes. Here we had a lot of fun! Me and Shriram climbed down , and did some rock climbing .Here are a couple of pics from Nighoj.

    Near the bridge

    These were the smallest ones

At around 0930 we left Nighoj , reached Aamdabad , turned left towards Sirur to get on the highway. On the highway we stopped for some drinks and then reached Pune by 1100. P.S. posting pics will take some time

Wow! Some stunning rock formations there.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

nice ride and adventure with two dissimilar themes. 'Peacocks and Potholes' . Really liked the rock formation pics. I wont be surprised to see more people visiting this place..( I would love to). BTW how hot were the rocks? I mean this being summer, I presume they must be very hot.

Good to see the pics! So you went there so early in the morning

Nice half day ride. You could have added Wadgaon Daryabai also, it is closer to Nighoj. Were there any restrictions that you had to keep the ride short and return by half day?

The rocks were not hot since we were there early morning , the sun hadn't come up. Do that ride near mumbai , it would be nice to see some more of these rock formations .

ya , after your advice we went there early in the morning.

There was no restriction but we weren't that much into the temple at 'Wadgaon Daryabai' and just wanted to come back before the sun went overhead.
