ID:	2002944Hello xbhp, I am subhrangsu, 24 yr old, a final yr dental-school student. I own a 2015 pulsar 220.
Though this is my first post, I have been visiting xbhp frequently for past 3-4 years to get my queries sorted out, DIY, reviews and travelogue (Read favourite pastime).
Sorry in advance for any error and bogus photography skills.
My final exams are approaching and i have been preparing for the same for past 2-3 months. I needed a break from this monotonous eat-sleep-study routine.
So last friday my dad sent me, this month's pocket money, and thus the itch for a ride began.

The 1st question was where? And 2nd question was with whom?
Asked some friends with bikes but everyone backed off stating some reason or the other.

So, ultimately it would have to be a solo one and distance had to be under 500km.
I had done max 400km rides in a day, but with friends.
This was going to be my 1st solo ride and the plan was to leave early morning and return by 9pm(hostel gate closing time).
So I zeroed in onto Rishikesh, as i had already been there previously and it wouldn't be so much of an unknown territory.

The thing is, I love riding long distances but thinking about doing it solo, floods my mind with a lot of negative thoughts (Read paranoid) coupled with my girlfriend not ready to accept that I would do it solo, her irrational fears, not informing my parents or anyone about it.
But I thought to myself, just sit on the motorcycle and ride it off, everything will b fine and this ride will open up new opportunities for you.

Saturday came and I was still not sure wether to do it or not, I was sitting with books open in front and thinking about the ride, such was the excitement. I was awake till late night, couldn't sleep and finally at 4:30 am took a cold shower packed my bag with a bottle of water, documents & some dry fruits.

    Day: Sunday:10.3.19
    Destination:
    Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, Rishikesh
    Distance : Meerut-Rishikesh-Meerut: 200Km

Checked for weather, it was gonna be sunny with clear skies, throughout the day.

5:10AM: Went to take gate pass from our hostel warden and had to answer his numerous questions and avoid any kind of suspicion, otherwise my parents would come to know of it.

5:40AM: Left my hostel, tied the bag onto the bike, with a bungee cord, set trip to Zero and started off.
Stopped at the 1st petrol bunk enroute, Filled the bike with 500rs fuel and resumed riding.

View was nice, rode with rising sun, fields covered with mist and minimal traffic on NH58 as it was early morning.
Rode continuously till haridwar and stopped for a water and loo break.Click image for larger version

Thank you mods for the speedy approval,
And it is my pleasure to be here, among like minded people.

      Now lets resume the story.

A very funny thing happend in Haridwar, as my PUC has expired 2 days back, so i thought i'll do it enroute to Rishikesh, but couldn't find a single PUC agent.
The place where I stopped, was in front of haridwar police station. Hence the place had some cops strolling outside, talking on the phone etc.
So i asked a cop where can I find a PUC agent here, and he said "u won't find it around here, u will get it at Rishikesh bus depot". But as it was a little away from the NH, I asked if there was any other agent. The reply was very shocking, he said" are sir kyu pareshan ho rahe ho, aapke paas to helmet hai, yaha pe bike wale se koi PUC nahi poochta, wo to commercial gariyo k liye chahiye hota hai, aap befikr jao".
And the happy me, started the bike and continued towars rishikesh.[emoji11]

Entering rishikesh city is a PITA. Its utter chaotic, still better than Meerut, I think.

And riding through it, is a different ball game.
Here u will find a different type of traffic. The roads are narrow. Buses, trucks, cabs, 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers, pedestrians, cows. Urgh !!

As scooters and motorcycles are available on rent here, a tourist can easily get his or her hands on a two wheeler here. But the horror starts after that, some are not experienced enough to ride on hilly roads, some are hard core squids and hell some people cant even move with the slow moving traffic and hence, small accidents are a common place here. You always have to be alert and pray to god that he keeps u safe.

And the day being a sunday it was more conjested.
Anyways got out of the city and continued towards the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple.

10:10AM : Reached the temple, freshened up. It took some time to do the pooja, due to the long queue (As again it was a sunday).Click image for larger version

        Hi Subhrangsu, welcome to xBhp!

That's a nice write-up there. Just need to take care of few punctuation - will get better with more write-ups.
