It all started at one of the Gta which happens on every Saturday, swayan (aka howling dog) came with the topic and at one short everyone agreed. After the dates were finalised the biggest question came where do we go, beaches were out of the list as summer has already started so lets head to the mountains. People staying in south india have much more opitions comparing to north and it was a 2ngt 3days G2G so decided The queen of hills (kodaikanal) TN. Its the best place for summer, day time its warm but in the evening you cannot stay without a jacket.
With things settling down stay was a hurdle as holidays have started and finding a place for big group with a budget is always difficult, swayan was on the hunt and finally he succeeded at hotel jai. Tshirts was designed and printed by madhu, routes and places to stop for breaks was also done.

Finally the ride day comes and we were 11 bikes and a car as my wife savitha and kid manish also joined for the first time. Manish was very excited about the riders that how would they ride and kept on asking me questions the whole way till we reached the hotel. We took break for every 100kms also to regroup. All started at 5am and stopped for breakfast after salem. Now the true picture begins as i was in the car and the riders were getting deep fried in the heat of TN. Soon stopped for regroup at dindugal at a petty shop, from here the riders mistook a different route twds palani and to their surprise happen to reach kodai via a very scenic route with lots of twistes. Meanwhile i and [MENTION=7019]Arnab[/MENTION] had lunch took the regular route and reached kodai at abt 5pm.
Relaxed for a while and the riders also joined in a little later to share the experience about the route that they took, bakar was always on the menu and as night falls its chill (time to grab some warm clothes). It was like a climate shift in the afternoon was 38deg and night 13... Dinner calls and all are to bed after a long day ride.


Day-2

All were up early and after breakfast we had planned to see some place like pillar rock, pine forest etc it was more like a whole day activity. It was crowded in all places but we could manage to see all and click fews pics. Later in the evening reached hotel as bonfire and music was arranged, at 13deg sitting next to the bonfire and sharing ideas and experiences of riders from various rides makes your day and inbetween as bakar happens its like topping on icecream..



Day-3
After breakfast it was more like homerun as next day being Monday all had to be in office. Some guys again took the palani route to see the scenic place and some taking regular route, again regrouped at dharmapuri A2B.
Stopped about 100kms before Bangalore for regrouping and saying final goodbye as weekend traffic was entering Bangalore, all reached home safely by 12 night.

I was a part of the ride, this time around I joined on my brand new Dominar 400. With just 300 kms on the ODO and yet to complete my run in, it was tricky for me as i had to keep the bike at 80 or less. The shift indicator would keep flashing the minute I breach the 5000rpm limit.

As we crossed Dindigul the outside temperature soared to 40+ degress, being in a full leather suit I was feeling like a egg being boiled, inside temp was constantly hitting 45/48 degrees. When I stopped at Aarthi hotel, I luckly spotted ice cream.

Well then Ice cream it is, this was my main course for lunch, after 4 cups of icecream, My core had cooled down.

I then sprayed some cold water onto my base layer. Filled cold water to 2 water bottles and slide one behind and one in front. This luckly kept the heat off for the next 2 hours. I had to keep repeating this untill i reached the check post at the foot of kodaikanal.

After that I just couldnt control myself, the ghats were awsome to ride all the way up to palani junction.

While the car moved ahead of us after chai, us, "The Hungry Bhukkads" had Dosas, Idly's and Kotthu Parathas for Breakfast here

After a brief refreshment stop here, we were ready to leave and march ahead.


First fuel break after around 350 odd kms.

After re-fuelling and taking a much needed butt-break, we continued towards Palani. We were finally starting to get the sense of the hills and the cool breeze with open visors.


Somewhere in the middle, we stopped for refreshments again. The car left early after refreshments to the lunch spot and all of us except @ArnabC missed the route. We kept on going only to know later that we were already 35+ kms from the lunch stop. So we decided to have some lunch in this route somewhere and meet them directly at Kodaikanal. Little did we know that this was one of the best decision that we took Why? You'll know in the coming pictures


Just before Palani, we saw this empty stretch which was full of shade and we stopped for refreshments.

After this, at Palani, we were stopped at a Police check-post for a regular check. No one else other than us were stopped by this troublesome cop
Nevertheless, we had all the necessary documents for ourselves and our bikes and the cop couldn't really find a reason to fine us lol.
