Seems to be fun as it consists of everything good roads, bad roads, lots of hair pins and lots of uncertainty.
I and my friends decided to visit Coorg after being annoyed by the summer in Bangalore.
11th May
We got off our beds late as usual and left our room by 5:30.
Bangalore-Mysore highway is the cream patch and it did well for our bikes too. We shuffled quickly till we left the highway and moved to KRS road for Madikeri. This road has lot of bad patches along with speed breakers.
We reached our first destination, Namdroling monastery, by 11:30 AM and we covered up the entire monastery and Nisargdhama (a place near by) and quickly made our way to Madikeri. The road from Kushalnagar to Madikeri is a delight. It is fun to ride there but one should also check for the highway patrol on the side of the road and check for the speed limit.
We reached Madikeri by 2:00 PM, had lunch and made ourselves comfortable in the room we booked. In the evening, we covered the entire city and returned to our room due to the decreasing temperature outside.
12th May
We started our journey for Talacaveri. The road to Talacaveri is awesome but one should drive safely as oncoming coming traffic may or may not be as smart as you.
This place is a heaven. Its truly feels like the abode of gods. We returned back to Madikeri by noon and covered up the Abbey falls.
We made our way for Dubare camp in Kushalnagar. In the mean time we remembered that we didn't have lunch. So after leaving from Dubare we stopped for lunch and by the time we completed our lunch, the weather completely turned upside down. Bangalore was still 206 kms from there and we were still in Kushalnagar and the time was 7:00 PM.
We started somehow and our initial target was to reach Mysore by 9-9:30 PM. So we covered up the remaining 70-80 kms in the time and we reached Mysore by the time. We had small break in Mysore and left for Bangalore . That night we reached around 1:00 AM.
This was simple soothing and short ride to Coorg over a weekend.
Thanks,
Vivek
