Got back from another interesting trip yesterday.
Delhi->Barloganj->Mussoorie->Yamunapul->Barloganj->Back
Total distance travelled: 600 kms
Bike's: HH Karizma, RE Machismo, HH Passion.
Mileage: 46.6 kmpl (HH Karizma)
We started off from Delhi, St. Stephens College, at around 7:30 A.M. Saw a very bad accident early on. A few kms after you take a left for Meerut, there was this guy lying dead on the road, the skin from his head was peeled off and was hanging at the begining of his neck. His scalp was lying completely exposed. His stuff was scattered all over the road. It was a very disturbing image. Couldn't have imagined how such a thing could have happened.
We reached Meerut in hour and a half and stopped at my place for some break fast. Left for Barloganj in another hours time. Stopping at various places now and then. A Dhaba at Muzzafarnagar bypass, another one after Rorkee and finally one after Dheradun en-route to Barloganj. Arrived at Barloganj at around 5:00 P.M.
The skies were relatively clear in the plains, but the valley was covered in mist. The ride was brilliant. We stayed at St. George's College. Amazing campus. We had out food at a Dhaba right outside the school at this dhaba. Bun omlettes with butter were our staple food.
The next morning we set off for Yamunapul to have a look at the Yamuna. Mussoorie was covered in mist. As we were going down, we finally decended below the clouds. The Yamuna had a muddy colour. It must've rained near Yamunotri. There was a small stream which flowed into it. Green in colour. It was amazing to see how it mixed with the bigger muddy river.
Just as we decided to return back to Mussoorie, it started to rain. So we took shelter at a check post. The rains stopped and we pushed off towards Mussoorie. It was drizzling at Mussoorie. Got a bit wet. Had steaming hot momo's and fried rice at this place called the 'Rice Bowl'. Highly recommended, very good food, decent prices. I personally don't like commercial hill stations and we'd stopped in Mussorie just for the food.
The next day we got up at 5:00 A.M. , thought we'd start off early for Delhi. But it was raining heavily. We waited till 7:00, but still no luck. The Passion and the Karizma started right up, but the Enfield just wouldn't. Took it up-hill then rolled it down hill, still no luck! I opened the spark plug, the gap was too much, cleaned and reduced it a bit, some amounts of smoke came out of the silencer but still now start! Do keep in mind that it was raining all this while and we had no water proof clothing. The i though probably water had gotten into the carb and decided to drain the bowl. But the card didn't have a drain, one had to open all 4 screws and remove the entire bowl. So decided againsn't it.
Anyways, we thought we might as well get a mechanic. Went up to Kincrate thrice before we could find a mechanic. All in the pouring rain, and we were freezing. The guy came, took one look at the carb, some one had fiddled with the idling screw, un-screwed it all the way out. Bike's don't start without air or fuel brother! Anyways, finally set off at 10:30 A.M. if i remember. As we decended, our temperatures along with our spirits rose! Until we were curing the heat when we were at Saharnpur.
The rest of the journey was pretty uneventful. My bike gave a pretty good average of 46.6 kmpl. Done 13040 kms now. Going for the 7th service tomorrow. Will see what condition the Catrol Power 1 - I put last time, is in ...
Pictures shall be posted by next week.
P.S: While in Mussoorie, saw a Qualis stuck in a ditch, so lent a helping hand along with two three other guys, got the Car out but cut my hand. Got a TT injection yesterday and now don't feel so good!

.well waiting till the pics arrive
