  • A Ride to Dindugul from Chennai.

As I got fed up with the sort of mechanical life, I needed a break from the crowded city and I was looking for a trip. My initial plan to go around Kodai Hills was cancelled due to unavailability of rooms there and the place would have been really crowded.

So me and my biker dude decided to take a trip to Dindugul and explore the hill ranges there. The Kodai Hills is situated exactly opposite to Sirumalai Hill range with a distance of 120+ km. I had no idea about this place and it is not a small hill range either. The slope-y hills and tarmac leads to several other hills nearby.

Location: Located near Dindugul district (>30 kms) with 18 hairpin bends. The altitude is somewhere around 1,500 mts. Will post more information and experience ASAP!

Re: A Ride to Dindugul from Chennai.

      Thanks for approving my post.
Comig to the trip me and my friend planned to go by my Apache 160 4v. We already had went many places and one sudden twist happened in our tour plan.

First thing was that we planned to visit muyalanagiri in karnataka as it's the one of the top hill stations there. But unfortunately it was dropped because of floods and heavy rains.
*Actually my friend suggested that there were heavy rainfall and bad weather all over the state.
The Route to Muyalanagiri is CHENNAI -VELLORE -BANGALORE - MYSORE - TUMKUR - CHIKMANGALUR.

It's around 600 kms one way. But as said, we changed the destination and somehow finally zeroed in to Sirumalai!!!

Lol as the name suggests the hill range is not small. One can feel that from being there. The only bitter thing is that there's no many shops available , a poor network.

But beyond this, there's a quiet good amount of Resort and stays were available.

      Route map :

CHENNAI - TINDIVANAM- TIRUCHY - DINDUGUL.

The total distance is 400+ kms and it's my first one way trip which crossed 500+ kms in a single day.

These were the things which made us enjoyable and unforgettable for the two days.
      *The unexpected trek
      *Exploring the forest.

Hereby I attach few pics and will add more to this post.

Last but not least : My hero of the ride is Apache!!!! Even its bad road or loose gravel or road filled with potholes it's just like having a piece of cake!!!

In a couple of places we thought that the bike won't go or it's risky but it just lived with us. No problems were happened during the entire ride. Only I checked for any puncture is there after riding through a heavily damaged road but nothing were found!!!

      To be continued...

for HD images, either u can upload to sites like flicker and add the http link here.
i usually add 4-5 MB size, and change the size to large or sometime create a blog on blogspot and copy here
