Hello xBhpians,
This is my very first share with you guys.
As 16th Sept, my Birthday is on Monday and as my company deducts 3-leave balance on absence on Monday or
Friday, few of my colleagues planned a trip to Sanaghagara, Odishha from Kolkata, on 14th and 15th September.
Open stretches, bikes and lovely weather...
Our ride route was predefined and very simple, crossing the Ganga river through Second Hooghly Bridge, continue to the Kona Expressway i.e. NH16, taking the 2nd left turn and cruising through NH49…

We(me and my wife) were riding a TVS Ntorq, one of my friend and his fiance were on a Hero Ismart, and two other friends were riding on their Yamaha FZs V2.
Giving rest to vehicles and some photoshoots...
We had started at 2:35 am from South Kolkata, continued to Second Hooghly Bridge and crossed
Kolaghat by 5:00 am and Kharagpur by 6:30 am. Having some breakfast, I was looking for a petrol pump to refuel my Ntorq’s tiny 5 L tank.
Roadside view at Keonjhar Dist...
Our next stop was Bangriposi, amid nature hault. Here we continued our journey through a part of Simlipal Reserve Forest. This was an awesome experience. Hills, Clouds and Forests are all together. After that we face some rough roads, and it was almost 60km stretched to Keonjhar.

Drive slowly when crossing the Reserve Forest...

We reached our destination by 4pm. The last 50-60km offroading with our scooter tired us a lot and we decide to take rest instead of local sight-seeing.

2nd Day:
Our bikes are getting ready for the return journey..
Pose of our lovely machines..
On the second day, early morning we start our journey towards Badaghagara Dam and waterfall and then Sanaghagara Waterfall from the Nature camp.

Then we explore the nearby places. We also visit the famous Gundichaghai waterfall.

As we faced more than 50km bad patches on the 1st day, we decided to change our route and returned via Bhadrak-Balasore-Baripada route.
Be cautious, lane breaking is very common in India..
Absolutely fine weather...
When we were 30km away from Bhadrak, it was nearly 6:30pm evening, we were faced with a heavy rainfall. It was so dense that we can’t even see 15ft away vehicles. We thought we could not go back to Kolkata and had to stay at Balasore. Eventually, the rain stopped and again we started our bikes.
Mandir beside the road like JalMahal..
The road condition was very good, we maintain avg 70km per hour speed for hours and finally reached home near 2:30am of 16th September.
Important Note: Total distance covered: 872 km
Vehicle: TVS Ntorq 125
Avg mileage: 39 kmpl.
Stay: Sanaghagara Nature Camp.
Always wear a Helmet and carry important documents while riding. I have completed almost all the terrains of West Bengal and now start exploring the nearby states. Always understand your vehicle and know it’s advantages and limitations properly before taking it to a long ride.
Have a Safe and Happy Ride..
