Me & NFS went from BLR via MYSORE to GSBetta and back last Saturday 30th May.
I had borrowed a 100-400 mm IS USM Cannon lens & wanted to check for a possible swap with my 70–200 F2.8 IS USM Cannon.
Hence we were out for a small ride, woke-up at 3:45, got ready by 5:00 meet-up with nfs on NICE-Mysore road junction exactly at the same time, from there on cruising at 80’s we had breakfast by 7:30 in Kamath lokaruchi (very expencive & bad service), stoped for some coconut water near nanjangude, Had breakfast II at Udipi hotel in Gundalpet, it a pretty good place to have south Indian food. Then stopped at the lake foot hills of GS betta.
Rode up till the temple. Put our bags & riding gear @ in the inspection bungalow kitchen !! lots of cops up there for puja & a bus load of pilgrims too. Walked around for a while, had a nice chat with NFS & on the way back saw 4 wild elephants very close to the peak & just on the road side .. Then it was a dash back to Bangalore with a couple of stops for food, including the one in Mysore Mahesh Prasad, NFS had a little run with rain, on every stop his clock frequency was slow for some reason & would keep thinking what to do & not do it, like stopped to wear the rain gear and not were it quickly before the rain approached us. I will let him narrate more about this … I learnt tha I don’t have a proper Rain gear, my Duck pack was lost while returning from DEL->BLR have put it in one of the others bags cant remember who has it. Loved NFS’s tour master single peace rain gear, Akil I want one too ..
