Due to the Covid pandemic, we all suffer a lot, it makes some new normals in our habitation.
From March’20, we are doing Work from home, lifestyles are restricted, all official meetings become Skype calls and group discussions become video conferencing. In these certain changes, we, the travelers, could not breath normally, we feel like prisoners in our own home.
Gradually the situation is getting normal, inter district borders are now opening. And we are aggressively waiting for some refreshment. Me and one of my friends concluded with a new solution. We plan to relocate for a week, with family and with our working devices.

Our plan was to Work From Hill (new WFH meaning invented by us
). As we are based on Kolkata, our nearest hill station is Darjeeling, and now the intra-state border is open for us. Only thermal checking is going on in some checkpoints. We made our day wise plan quickly, it was like:
Saturday: Kolkata to Siliguri
Sunday: Siliguri to Darjeeling
Monday: Work From Hill (WFH)
Tuesday: Work From Hill (WFH)
Wednesday: Explore the Darjeeling
Thursday: Explore the Darjeeling
Friday: Work From Hill (WFH)
Saturday: Darjeeling to Tarapith
Sunday: Tarapith to Kolkata
Now it was time to execute the plan.
My ntorq and my friend’s V15 are ready for the journey..
It was 19th Sep’20, we started our journey at 3:30am from South Kolkata, reached our breakfast point, Saktigarh near 5:45am. Where I again topped up the tinny fuel tank of TVS ntorq. We chose the Khargram-Morgram-Farakka-Malda(by-pass)-Dalkhola road, and we intentionally avoided the Botolbari route as we were travelling with our family.
We took our lunch at Malda near 3:00pm with additional two fuel stops in between.
By 8:10pm, we reached Siliguri, at our pre-booked hotel.
Our bikes in front of Siliguri’s hotel, about to start the 2nd day’s journey..
On the very next morning, we chose the Mirik-Rongbong(quite serene)-LepchaJagat-Ghoom route.
Momo and cold drinks from roadside shops..

After taking multiple stops for food and viewpoints, we reached our hotel SalaTrees in Darjeeling in the afternoon.

For the next two days, we do work from the hotel room as per the scheduled time.
Our workstation looks like:
On Wednesday and Thursday, we took two days off and started exploring the places. We visited the Mahakaal Mandir and explored the famous Mall area by foot. Then we take our vehicles to explore the Ghum Railway Station (Highest Railway Station in West Bengal), Batasia Loop, Kurseng, DowHill,Tiger Hill view point, Lovers Point, Tista View Point, LamaHatta, Tagda etc.

Though we visited many places, most of the Pagoda and Monastery were still closed due to Covid.
We are in front of the closed Ghum Monastery.
On Friday, we were doing our job on time from the hotel.

On 26th Sept, 2020, we started our return journey from Darjeeling in the early morning via Kurseong road, and reached the famous Tarapith temple near 8pm.
Mesmerizing beauty of Kurseong road..
This day was a very memorable day for us. As we reached Siliguri, the rain started and up to Morgram, we were riding in the rain, it was almost 8hrs we were riding in the rain. All the luggages soaked water due to heavy pouring. Raincovers could not protect the wearings from being soaked. After reaching Tarapith Hotel, I had nothing to change.. :’(
The next morning, we worship goddess TaraMaa of the famous Tarapith and then having some food, we started our journey towards Kolkata.
Your ride is incomplete without a view from your dash..

here we keep working from Home, non stop
