  • City touring

Well I don't know if this topic would be fit for this section neverthless according to me this was the most appropropriarte section.
Well i'm since just an 18 year old chap, i have not yet been granted the permission for some long distance touring so will be trying to quench my thirst for some with something what i call "city touring". What i have been trying to do is find some exotic locations in and around Delhi.
So if anyone intends to join me for these short rides i would be more than happy. Also would love if you guys out there could suggest me some places i could visit.I would like to keep the thread updated with pictures and short logs almost daily.

Nice idea Prakrit, generally speaking there is so much about our cities(where we live) to find out, waiting for the log and pix.

@Prakrit - I'm not aware of the kind of places you prefer but would like to add some of my favourites.

            1. Manesar Mcd - some 25 kms from Dhaulakuan. Preferred on sunday morning

            2. Gr Noida Expressway - I enjoy ride on this but mostly people are here for ripping & checking top ends.

            3. Old Delhi - if you are a foodie. Options are endless here.

            4. Faridabad dhaba - I love sipping tea at this place. This dhaba is just after Ajronda Chowk on RHS while going towards Mathura. The food is also good here.

I'll keep updating as & when I remember any other place.

Hmm, So Mr. Takkar is all set to burn the roads of Delhi..great going mates. Well you being a Delli wala yourself, makes little or no sense if I go about suggesting you places to visit in Delhi, but then lets not forget...Delhi in its own is a place that has almost everything apart from the Sea shore and Snow clad mountains.

Historically speaking...we have forts and palaces from the Moghuls Era.
Wonderful eating places in Old Delhi...paranthay wali Gali, Fatehpuri,Moolchand k parathey, AIIMS k parathey,Dhaba @ Katwariya Sarai,Cum(ber)Some, Bitto Tikki Wala....
wonderfulhot and happening places like the Discs, PVRs.
Good Green Lush gardens like the Nehru Park, Buddha Gardenetc.( though they are famous for soem ko-chi-ko things these days)
Loads of girls colleges to see the wonderfully beautiful girls, if ones interested.
not to forget the Lutyens Delhi..... something that we all fall in love with.

Start off with a bang and keep us updated.

P.S: aren't you the one who wanted to KISS the R1 at the Finals??? Mates....somebody stole your Love just beneath your nose....( and that was just a small joke, no offence meant, appreciate your love, passion and knowledge about Motorcycles in totality, I for sure still cant differentiate between a Ducati and a Harley Davidson, they are just a set of two wheels for me...how lame of me!!)

Could you be more specific on the "Ashoka era" bit? Without talking about the National Museum of course! And please do not cite the Iron pillar inside the mosque in the Qutb Minar complex!

So the time had come I checked out my watch it was 4 in the morning. It was time to get out of the bed so that i could begin with "Mission : Saddi Dilli". I knew this was going to be sumthing i'm gonna remember all my life.

                            The Ride Begins

So what better place to begin it with India Gate. Well to be frank this place has been my sweet spot ever since the first time i had been here and that would as far as i can remember when i was some 2 years young. This beautiful place has got an aura of freedom everytime I go there I feel..........naah can't even think of a word to describe that feeling and for all i know will never be able to.For a change today 1 of my buddies decided to join me so we now we had to people to acomplish the objective. So we moved out our places and hit the road by 4:30 it was dark our plan was to shoot some sunrise but the weather gods dint want us to. I was cruising through the city's vacant roads at some 60-70.We reached India Gate and we knew the cloudy sky wouldn't allow us to click the sun. So we were there sending next to the epitome of freedom looking at Amar Javan Jyoti almost got tears into my eyes. The cool breeze kissing my face hugging my body had mersmerised me felt as if was some hawk sitting atop a rock at some peak's edge. After a chat with the navy personnel on duty there and ocassional clicks we headed for a quick stroll at Rajpath. Headed upto the barricade and then came our very own police wala saying "yahan parking allowed nai hai nikal ley yahna sey chorey" and so did we. After that we had a view of some "kabootar's" so tried to get the perfect kabootar shot but failed.
By this time the biker and the photographer souls were real hungry so headed straight to Connaught Place to have some nice aloo pyaaj paranthas.Yummie I must tell you, those paranthas and lassi made our day. After our tummies were tanked up we decide to lie down at Central part chat.Had a nice chit chat there and then headed back to our places to catch some sleep we had been up all night. So this way the mahurat ride went real good.
                            The clicks

The Bow to Freedom,to Devotion,to Sacrifice and to Love

                            Son Of a *****

                            That almost "Kabootar shot"

All the pics that have been posted here are unedited wanted too keep them raw for don't know what reason
