no safaris on two wheelers.don't even think about it.the highway runs through the park and if you are early enough you can see some black beauties(elephants ), deer, bison and the elusive big cats if you are lucky.

2 changes can be done to the overall trip.

day 1 start early - always helps and you can visit ranganathitoo bird sanctuary which comes before Mysore

day 2 push of before 5 and try to reach bandipur by 6 , you will have a good chance of sighting some wildlife

"ranganathitoo bird sanctuary " -is it good time for it, as i understand there are less birds seen during monsoon.

I would suggest you add Gopalsamy betta in ur trip , it is on the way from mysore - bandipur route. start very early from mysore then you will have chance to catch some wildlife enroute

. Also kothagiri is better than ooty so you can stay there and visit ooty, the route to kothagiri is also very scenic . it is 35 kms from ooty - Have a safe ride

alrite...question: do you want to spend more time in mysore or ooty? well, ooty is more commercialized so what i meant was coonoor and kottagiri... think about it. mysore can be done some other time but since you are going to ooty, i suggest spending more time there...

about wildlife... its always better if you can enter bandipur jungles early morning ie 6am when they let you in ... thats the best time to visit the wildlife... and yeah, a good 10kms down and a deviation of 25kms into the jungle, you hit a river ... nice place to be. lot of elephants on the other side adn the experience is scary...

but remember, there are no good roads and its all jungle so if you aint got a good rubber, things are gonna go wrong...
so as per your plan, leave mysore by 4am on 29th and reach gundalpet by 5:30... have some tea and snacks and enter bandipur by 6am...

also, you can choose to ride via gudalur... there are lots of nice places to see... needlerock view point, frog view etc are good to spend some time... there is also a lake bout 10kms off when you enter the ghats...

yeah... as isacM said, you can add GS betta too but there is a bit of trekking involved so you might spend some energy there...

This time is not the right time to go to Ranganathitu, went there in early June and the number of birds was very less, now it should be even fewer.

Tentative Plans
28th 7AM Leave to Mysore by 10 AM reach Mysore
3 hours is pushing it in bike buddy, and that too consider traffic, leave still earlier
10Am - 12Am Visit Zoological garden
this might get extended or shortened depending on your interest

12AM - 2PM vist chamdudi temple, st. Philomena;s chruch
church is sort of near to zoo and the temple is 20km away!! order should be changed.

2AM - 2:45 Search decent veg resturant and have Lunch
there's a host of rest. near bus stop and that huge statue of Jayachamarajendra. KKR, ramanamahashree, pizza corner etc..

3pm - 5PM Visit Daria Daulat, Gumbaz Fort, Sriranganatha Swamy Temple
you are coming back towards bangalore to see this, this is in srirangapatna, probably you should see this on the way to mysore early morning and then see KRS and brindavan gardens in evening, the lights are not to be missed!
5 - 7 - Open space ...pondering...probably local shopping

7 - 8 Vrundavan Garden
better to enter this by 6.
8 - 9 Mysore Palace (they say a special light effects is done on sundays)
yes it is awesome, it's opposite the zoo itself, they all are within a radius of 3km
9 - 9:45 Dinner
10 Search Hotel and Dump in

29th
6:00AM Leave to Bandipur (80kms)
should be much earlier
7:30 - 9am join the Bandipur Safari Van trip or jeep trip and have breakfast
the roads are not super, so you won't cover it so fast!
9am - 12 Am Reach Ooty
12am - 1:00pm do local site seeting boating etc.
Ooty in itself is useless, all crowded! even doddabetta being very tall doesn't feel so! goto Wellington, Coonor and other surrounding areas. I suggest take Gudalur to Nilambur, Kerala and you will mukruti national park there.
1:00 - 1:30pm Lunch time

1:30 - 2:00 reach coonor station park bike,
2:00 - 2:30 Catch a auto/bus and run back to otty station, book tickets for toy train from ooty to coonor

3:00 - catch train and take a ride to conoor,

3:30 - 4:30 Go to Dolphin point see the waterfall etc.
4:30 - 5:30 Coonor sims garden

5:30 - 6:30 Botnaical/zoological garden etc etc
feel lalbagh is better and it's right here in bangalore!!!
6:30 - 8:30 roam arround coonor or go to ooty, search for hotel, take a dinner and dump in.

30th yet to plan to do things arround ooty

Pour in all your suggestions, I would love to have them.
