I have seen one fella posting his touring on scooters. Have not seen too many. Lets see if people respond here.

Can the Kinetic Marvel be considered as a scooter, If yes then the max i have done is 120 kms

well, way before I purchased my First Bike (discover 125 Dtsi) I used to ride scooter and I had A 1986 Bajaj Priya and a 1995 LML Vespa NV Spl.
I have done quite a lot of touring on it, which includes Faridabad-Agra-Faridabad, Faridabad-Alwar-Faridabad. the best ride I had so far was MandiGobindgarh-Faridabad. Best, because my scooter returned me the bestest possible mileage...I burn only 4 litres of Petrol to cover 305kms. now dont ask me HOW???

I toured for sometime when I had the black elephant (read Kinetic Blaze). I could do only 200 km trip max (two-way). It gave me lots of problems and had to sell it finally before buying the ZMA. The seating comfort was highlight and was like a sofa. Nice stance for touring, though the 6-liter tank was seriously limiting.

I guess, Blaze is considered a scooter. In fact it is a maxiscooter.

Mileage? Only 30 kmpl at 90-100kmph.

Well.. no long rides for me on the scooter.. just some city touring for about 60+kms everyday.. however, a friend of mine had been to Khardung-La on his Kinetic

I toured on scooters back in my college days. Have done numerous scooter trips from yamunanagar (college) to mussouire, shimla, manali .. etc .. An NV to be precise..

i dont know much about scooters ....
but i remember a incident which happend to my friend about a 2+ years ago......

once he tour on his scooter [priya] from gujrat to alwar.. over 400kms trip..
his scooter get heat up & catch fire.......

& Now His Priya is RIP @ junkyard.....

I have a kinetic ZoomZx 2stroke in my garage but have never attempted a long ride in it...
Reasons: Low top speed(upto 60 max and that too making a cloud of smoke and noise like all hell let loose ), ergonomy in long rides and fuel consumption
The max done in a day was 120km that too in city and and highways..

I have done a lot of city rides on my grandpa's Bajaj Chetak 1988 model which was rarely used by him. I have covered 11200 km on it in 6 months. Didn't do any highway riding as it was too old. The max which I had done in a day was 250 km in the city.

I have done a 1500 kms ride from Mumbai to Goa and return on my Honda Activa. I have a huge trip log will post if I get time.

One thing I must admit, that the bike never felt underpower even after 2 75-80kg each riders and min 10kg luggage. It was my first ever long ride in my life on my first ever motored vehicle.

I dont remember the year but it was somewhere in 2003 as far as I remember..

Woah,neat bro.

Anyone had any problems yet with Honda engines when taking long rides?(cause that would be a first as far as i know)

That was one of a kind adventure man... I didnt even have a proper cam..not even a cell phone cam.. Had a simple film camera.. I have very few pics of the ride..

Engine didn't say even a word through out the journey.. My uncle used to work for Honda service station as senior technician.. He had given me some tablets(dont remember the name) but he had asked me to put half the tablet every time I fill the tank(full tank). That helped a lot.

The only problem I had was the rear wheel's ball bearings were out(this is layman's language).. Had a lot of trouble due to that.. but that was my fault.. It happened coz of my fault.. If I post the trip log you'll know how...

Other than that no problems at all.. I did the trip in 2 parts both while going and coming back..

Day1: 400kms to Rajapur.. my father's native place - stay there for the night
Day2: approx 350km to Goa.. my mom's native place

While coming back the same way...

Ride till Rajapur approx 350kms.. and the next day 400kms to Mumbai..


Average speed used to be between 55-65/70kmph...

We used to take 10mins breaks without fail after every hour's ride.. no matter what happens..
