@lovemax- doc (the zx12r guy) is the official doctor of the event.. i told him to find out new bikable routes when he is there..once he comes back,will go over to meet him n in case he found new routes,will let ya know..

the raid ROCKS...one of the most toughest rally in this part of earth..

But somehow I feel this event is important for manufacturer's teams not privateers. Specially when on a small bike you cannot go for reliability version, and to go for xtreme, you need your own service crew. Seems impracticle for an average person. If one makes up his mind to participate in this event, it's very diffcult to arrange for a service crew. YOu need to have a lot of time for the preparation itself.

WEll I some how agree with you Viveksh besides doing the terrains myself, one needs a lot of help from a team. Well for a single person it is not possible unless he has a whole team and crew to cover him up on stages and provide him with the best of the required help.
Rest @ Bunny : Sure there are routes which are not on maps but highly risky and not advisable. But yes if one has time money and all the life support One can take those terrains on bike.
Still thats a good information that we've some one our own in that rally.

I agree that doing the raid without any back-up is a big nono. Though I would suggest that one can form a service team and hire a guy with a car who can ferry your stuff and provide the necessary back-up. I saw it being done by the CMSA guys riding the x-treme cateory. They had hired a Indica and a couple of guys to take care of the servicing. I see this as one of the options to cut down on back-cost and at the same time a practical solution to take care of servicing.

I think if one is interested in goin pro in this sport this is one way of etting started cos there are guys out there who are recceing for the talent.

After all what is life without a sense of adventure.

Sure vivek - you are quite right.
But for a biker to plunge into such sport it needs one to be financially strong and equipped with plenty of resources.

two teams from zen motors of bangalore with 2 fieros r also participating this time and i got a chance to ride one bike as well.they were slightly tweeked.

Guys, just got back today from Himachal and shortly will upload pics from one point in the competetive section 2 on day one. Just a couple of bikers as i reached slightly late, but plenty of 4 wheelers. And the rai is over with the last day cancelled as it snowed very heavily. It snowed at my place too last night though i was here .... its never snowed so early in the last 100 yrs ...FREAK !! i missed it though ... pics in a day or two

yup,its amazing that places like kufri , narkanda , kotgarh got snow this time..its not even mid-oct.. no doubt,its gettin so cold here in delhi too

Bunny ..While driving from Hari Nagar (west delhi) to I.P.Extn (East Delhi). Believe it or not I saw light fog on Jail Road and then on Dhaula Kaun strech at 3 in morning.
It is Just Oct and that too mid OCTOBER... So Just keep fingers crossed for more foggy nights ahead..
And Bunny we have got bad news from RAID ...Guys got stuck at Baralacha was even in Newspaper (TOI).
ANd tempereature fell down to sub zeros.

but i guess,all d ppl r safe now..
wat did u come to hari ngr for? u shd hv called me up..my coll is in rajouri garden man.. i am either in my coll or at my office (karam pura) nowadays..
