  • The First leap to Mumbai !

I positioned myself on my Yamaha FZ16 comfortably, and began the journey. That way Mumbai is not that far from Pune. I have heard many people generally do such traveling sometimes. After all 180kms is not a big deal for 150cc bike.

The expressway looks cool from this height. The mountain road between Pune and Mumbai was deadly at one time. People used to pray for safe journey. Its then the govt thought of building up a better road. As it turns out now the expressway between Mumbai Pune is as good as a racing track. Cars move in speeds above than 150 Km/h. For that mater here is a sample of the old highway and its incline (Bikes are anyway not allowed onto the new highway, cement road, fast traffic and such reasons; so the old one was my road.)

The snapreel of the 150 cc Lord of the streets, Yamaha FZ 16, here it goes...

Nice good decision. Way to go!
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Pune Mumbai is the best route for a new tourer. I did that route for the first time when I couldn't even balance the bike with a pillion (only could ride alone), and enjoyed it thoroughly. Especially in past few years when the old highway too has become a tolled road (no tolls for bike), those roads have improved vastly.

Good to see bikers riding long distance all alone

great stuff! welcome to the unofficial pune-mumbai-pune riding club consisting of scores of bikers. Most of us started our touring escapades from here. Kudos and ride longer next time.

                God bless.

Nice ride buddy, welcome to the club. Well as 46wb tells, most of us n even me started our touring on this route only, Pune-Mumbai-Pune still remains my fav stretch of all I'd ever done, short n fun...

Just came back from Amby Valley, 300 kms. short ride, half an hour back. Roads as usual are in good condition, but the road on ghats from Khopoli to Lonavla are in bad shape, I mean pebbles & oil spills are in plenty + very high crosswinds with heavy rains, anyone riding there be extra cautious.
Zero visibility in the upper ghats.
Bushi dam is flowing at its full glory, went there, SHOES-ON

                  GODSPEED EVERYONE...
