    DAY 3

    DAY 3

I woke up with a mild headache and breathlessness, but that didn’t debarred my spirit. Got up had b’fast and started for chandratal which is 14 kms from batal. The ride to the lake was an adventurous one. The road is narrow and can accommodate only one car at time. Within three kms., I came across the first stream of the route. And the water was FREEZING.

The narrow road opens up to a huge vast open space of land and I was quite amazed with the versatility the terrain had to offer. The ride ahead was challenging and I had to be extra careful.

Soon I reached the point from where one has to walk to the lake…..and I was simply bowled over by the beauty of the lake. I walked down to the lake and sat there for an hour gazing at the lake. It was a spiritual moment and a lot of thoughts were crossing my mind.

My vocab is not good or I would have come up with the right word to express my excitement on seeing these pics. Absolutely brilliant!!

I'm in Lucknow (my home) till November for an exam that I've to appear in some months. Let me come back & may be we can plan a ride then.... I still regret missing your invite for Binsar.

I so want to ride but for now fighting with Geometry with Trigonometry involved in it....

I am just blown away, the last set of pics is just unreal. These have a sense of dreaminess about them, it seems like you just dream of beautiful place and its right there on canvas.

How i wish i can go there.

                    Thanks Sunny.

                    Day 3 (contd.)

After having food at batal, i left for Manali. It was a pretty mundane ride as i couldn't get over the visual treat at Chandratal. Got back to Manali in 3 1/2 hours, checked in to a hotel and went to Johnson's to treat myself over a trout.

Ironically, I just saw 4 sumo's in transit on the Gramphu-Kaza route in two days. I just had the towering peaks and chandra river to accompany me till gramphou.....juxtapose this with the traffic of any metro. The air had distinct feeling and I was just speechless at what all I had witnessed. Tomorrow, would be just another ride back to delhi....

Still, whenever I close my eyes, the images of chandratal just fill the horizon.....
