  • Independence Day Ride - WESTEND

Just did a quick ride to the western tip of india..DWARKA in gujrat....me on Pulsar 180DTSi V1 and a buddy Kartik on the R 15...

    Some 2200 kms in all..started 14th august afternoon..returned 16th august morning ...

R15 did pretty well..although we did face some ground clearance issues at some places....and one puncture...at 1 in the night.....

Pulsar had standard electrical and vibrations issues..

Overall a fantastic ride....rode non stop from dwarka back to mumbai overnight....

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Dwarka is the westernmost tip of india....legend has it..that this was the capital of Lord Krishna's kingdom..and is now under water....

              route was Mumbai - Vapi - Valsad - navsari - vadodra - vasad - - by passing Ahemedabad - Bagodra - Rajkot - jamnagar - Dwarka...and back...

while going we went left from Mumbai at 12:00 PM..in the afternoon from Thane..and reached Jamnagar at 1 in the night....statyed over at Jamnagar...left Jamnagar at 10 in the morning the next day..rode to dwarka..turned around..came back to jamnagar...had lunch...rode to Rajkot ..reached vadodra at 1 in the night and decided to continue ridindg..reached Surat at 4 in the morning...Vapi at 6 in the morning and Thane at 10....

Rode NON STOP overnight...something i ve learnt from good ol buddy Doc Arn...i had a HID for illumination..which made life simpler..on NH8....

              LOVELY trip....

Felt nice on dwarka beach..Gujrat has such lovely clean seas.....feels bad...to see Mumbai beaches so damn polluted...especially its the damn same sea.....

planning more such rides...over weekends.....have already conquered the southern TIP of india begining of this year..now done the western tip...now 2 more tips remaining to conquer.....

              Looking frwd to more rides...

              cheers

              Praveen P Sathaye..
