So expecting a bunch of pics to give us an idea about your exploration

Hi NIO,

I really dont like the usual places like sixth mile ,seventh mile,pykara dam,sims park, botanical garden, thoddabetta. These places have become more of like snack shops.And being from coimbatore, Ooty is the best hangout for us.So did numerous trips to ooty. I came to know about western catchment point from my uncle who is a hard core bike enthusiast.

Most of the places like Western catchment point, Avalanche(till avalanche govt guest house u can go without permission),Upper bavani needs permission and these are the kind of places where we can find Thrill and Only these places will justify the effort we spend.

Does any one know about the route which covers Upper bavani->Avalanche->western catchment point (Though am not sure about the order in which i have mentioned the places)

We've missed enuf weekends and lets not miss this one...I think we have plentiful time to make it to Upper Bhavaani this time.

2nd weekend of September..Nata has already applied leaves on Friday and Monday, I guess...But we need not apply any leaves...Apply a leave if u need some rest on Monday...Else Leaves will not be required.

Itenirary :
Friday Night @ 02:00 AM(i.e., Sat early morning) - Departure from Bangalore
Sat @ 5:00 AM - Reach Mysore
06:30 AM - Reach Bandipur National Park and pass thru Mudumalai national park.
07:30 AM - Reach Theppakkaad ( Begins the ascent to ooty, a real steep one at that)
09:00 AM - Reach Ooty- Go around small time Tourist spots like Dodda betta and also obtain the required permissions to stay at the Fishing Hut or the Upper Bhavani guest house.
02:00 PM - Leave ooty and move towards Upper Bhavaani via Manjoor.
06:00 PM - Reach Upper Bhavaani Guest house or the Mukurthi National park Fushing Hut depending on the permissions we get...And try to Sleep in that Chilly weather with very basic amneties.

Day 2 :
Sunday
06:00 AM - Sight seeing around the scenic Lake and the Mukurthi national Park.
12:00 PM - Ride towards Bangitapal and then to Parson's valley and then to Pykara falls and back home via Gudalur,Mudumalai,Bandipur,Mysore.
09:00 PM - Reach Bangalore.

@bhuvan... gud to see you too... will plan to have an offline G2G.. may be this or the next weekend. Then we could plan up for the trip.

@ nio.. thnx dude.. i guess the Gixxer is all set now to wake up a lot many bikers in Coimbatore. hopefully this weekend we will try to have a G2G.

@pinku... count me in for this trip. I can meet up with you in OOTY on saturday. I and my friends did a weekend trip from coimbatore to wayanad thru the same route from ooty.. the travel log is getting ready... will post is by this evening. Will watch out for updates from you.

Am planning on doing this ride to Ooty this weekend. Hopefully the weather holds up. Thanks for letting me know about the places around there, will see if I can check out some of them.

I might be coming back early on Sunday though and get some decent rest.

@ sidhusmart... the weather now in Ooty is quite pleasant .. a little bit of rainfall early morning or late evenings is possible but otherwise its just perfect for a ride.
