  • Ride to the unexplored,S01E03,The Longest Yard

Continuing with the ride to the unexplored series , this Sunday we rode to “Chas Kaman Dam” and “Bhama Askhed Dam”

    The Plan –

    Riders -

    VJ – p200
    Niks – Mach V

Total Distance covered – 265 kms.

We started from home at around 0830 , VJ filled up his bike in Casarwadi and then we pushed off towards Nashik Phata. Here we again stopped to fill up my bike. From here on we continued towards Nashik. From Khed we took a left turn (First diversion on this highway to Bhimashankar) and carried on forward till Wadekar wadi and “Chas Kaman Dam” . From here we continued on till we found a place to have breakfast in a village. Then we turned back and picked a spot closest to the dam backwaters. After a bit of going on the village trail and through some wet fields , parked at a location for some photography.

Set 1 – Land , Air and Water

After a while we turned back and went back to the highway (Khed). From here we took a turn towards Kadus. When we reached a fork , we turned east (right) towards Ghatori . Stopped mid way for a while for some pics.

Set 2 – Climb the hill

We continued on this road for a while till we found a turn for Ghatori. The landscapes on this route were breathtaking. No tourists , no garbage pile ups , no person to be seen anywhere. Just two riders , gravel /pot holed / untared road , green mountains on either sides and brilliant partially clouded sky. But when we reached the village it was a dead end , we had to turn back.

Set 3 – The Swiss village

Again we could not find the road which we wanted to take. We spoke to a local and told them we wanted to go to the hills we saw at a distance . He guided us to the intersection where we had to turn right. We again stopped a little short of the fork and took some pics .

    Set 4 – Decision Point

After taking the right turn we went through the villages Aamboli and crossed Bhama river (just a brook I would say) . Again we went uptil Vandre which was a dead end . We come back to the main road and kept on moving along the gravel path. Stopped for another round of pics , basically to charge up the phone.

Set 5 – The gravel trail

From here we continued till the end of the mountain range on the right . Took a right turn and it took us to the Hyundai factory . The road continued to Bhandara caves and then to talegaon (NH4) . The ride was a breeze on the NH till home.

    GPS tags –

i think, GPS tracking system is working very well with the new lighter assembly.
now onwards we will have all our tours GPSed...

surprisingly, you dint encountered with rains, generally this area receives heavy rain falls.

Nice photography there on the hills.

and as always, i missed the best rides.

                    Awesome shots,niks!!

But somehow i feel almost all the pics have got some blue tint infused. Or did you deliberately tried to make it look that way?

Thanks ! I agree with you. The only deliberate thing I did was to keep pics a little underexposed to get the cloudy sky properly.

The blue tint is because of tubelight/fluorescent white balance which I forgot to set to sunny/cloudy. I realised this after all the pics were already clicked

Lovely ride it seems. The beauty of pics is spoiled by the blue cast.
