Route till Leh is finalized I have my doubts on the routes beyond that which I have mentioned below.

Please respond to my below questions.

    1.
Please let me know if the below mentioned docs are the only ones needed for any inter-state Bike trips.
    a. License
    b. R.C
    c. PUC
    d. Insurance
    e. Apart from the permit to visit Pangong Tso. No other permits? Where exactly to get this permit.

    2.
The Deal is, we need to start from Delhi early in the morning and Reach Wagah Border before the Flag Lowering Ceremony i.e around 5 P.M I guess.

    3.

    4. We would like to visit the Tso Morriri and Panggong Tso Lakes from Leh. Is there a direct link from Pangong Tso to Tso Morriri lake. Or do we have to come back to Leh and proceed to Tso Morriri. If so, please let me know the route to Tso Morriri from Leh.

    5.

    Thanks in Advance,
    Ananth

      Hi Ananth,

I did Chandigarh - Manali - Leh - Srinagar in June 2009, and I had to do the same kinda research for everything
.... But, you are lucky buddy.

I have attached a excel sheet prepared by me.. which includes the Planning, Things to carry, Infos, Route Map, First Aid and Contacts which answers all of your queries. And still if you need any more info let me know.

Anyone who are planning to do Manali - Leh can make use of this and update the content if anything's missing....

[Edit: I am unable attach route map in the single file... click HERE to download route map]

      Cheers'

          1. The documents are sufficient. The Inner Line Permits, you would get from the DC office, Leh. Opens up at 10 am.

          2. Stick to the NH-1

          3. Return via NH-21. The route that you see is through Spiti, which is another story altogether. You would need a couple of days more, to return via this route.

          4. There is a direct link via chusul-nyoma-loma but it is in very bad shape. Return to Karu and then proceed to moriri-tso.
