@Hellrider: Nice bit of narration there. The best bit about places high up are the cheap rates which one gets accomodation for the night! I mean, where else would you get an accomodation for Rs.100/-!

Now, waiting for the rest of the log to surface. Damn! I can't wait to ride to Chandrataal.
    :)

pics for the remaining journey ..part 2

The morning when i left rampur/

          The evening shadows..

The road from rampur started to deteroriate like this...

Nothing seems more magnificent than these mountains /

The dam has progressed this much since you last cam here..
          Location.. enroute Tabo

          Rainbow in the River \oo/

Hydel power project have been really depleting the beauty of this place ..

          Near Karcham Dam ..

Chai and smoke really kept me going on .

The way these rocks are carved for the road is awesome .. !!

Sangam on Satluj... The blue water comes from Indian territory.

Those of you who wanna get high.... Come here... This was my personal clicked most favourite pics of all /

          No turning Back .

The bridges make real funny noises... creaking sounds when you roll over them .

          Sleepy Driver/

Looks like the mountain is close but not really . Check the base where its starting at . :P

What kind of a place would be KA ... I went further to find that out but nothing really existed after 6 kilometers actually.

The best part of the trip was that you could find just three things :
          Rocks
          Water and
          Rocks + Water

barren Landscapes.. loved these winding roads.

AB ISKE bare MEIN KYA KAHEIN ... :: ??

          Chango...

Somewhere in the afternoon when i Crossed from Kinnaur valley straight into Spiti Valley. Remembered it at once as i had see photos of you guys at ths place ..

Stone Reoving Session... Brave people ...

IT AMAZING TO BE THIS HIGH >>. A mixed feeling of Freedom with seclusion .

This is the best pic that i could shoot given that
Its a road actually and its turning to the left... the stream of water was flowing (as you can see the flow is less but water is foot deep.) from the right and i clicked it with a timer from my phone .. just came right the first time itself .
Though i wanted to capture more and more of these good places .... which i will surely do when i hit the road.

These pics are till the end of day 2 from Rampur to Kaza
Will put up the last few from Kaza onwards later ..
Not much pics actually from kaza onwards since my phonce battery died once i was hitting near kunzum to and also there was no ice at kunzum this time of the year.. and rohtang there was minimal ice ...

I think i did a good thing to visit this place rather than straight getting Leh'ed.. made me learn a lot about driving on this terrain. and got to meet so many interesting peopple ...
          .Chris.

@Hellrider: Good going. More so, since you were riding solo! Thanks for sharing the pictures, although a little more text would have been lovely.

Reminds me of my Spiti ride.
            :)

                    Pics From Kaza- Manali- Delhi

I wanted to shoot many more pictures but by battery died once i hit (4500 mts) @ kunzum top.

As you all would have noticed the snow had melted during the summers and this time around it was just mountains with no ice ...
when I reached Kunzum top which i expected to have some delight for me but unfortunately there was none just the MATA KA MANDIR which i circled around once for safe journey and bid goodbye to that place.
The ride between Kaza and manali was the most exciting in terms of terrain i faced. absolutely no roads from the Checkpoint that falls after KAZA if you are heading towards kunzum all the way till you hit rohtang top.
places like chhota dhara, batal, gramphoo had absolutely no roads though i found some sections here and there on the verge of development (i.e. Roads), but it was fun to be at a place like this.
Though i have a question ... why is Red bull such a favourite drink for a burst in adrenaline or carbohydrates.... I didnt carry red bull with me ..though i wanted to experiment it at high altitudes and driving on rocky terrain.
I stayed in manali for a day and washed away my weariness in Vashisht Kund, purchased some forbidden stuff and reached back in 3/4th of a day.

I am really delighted to have taken such a journey and pray to the god almighty for many more of these rides to come... quickly.!!!
                    Regards
                    Hellrider

Hellrider, my experince with red bull has been fabulous. It infact does shoot a burst of energy through the body and that too in minutes, albeit for a short time. I did chandigarh - kaza, in one day, relying on 4 cans of red bull

I will definitely tank up some red bull when I hit the roads next time.

@Aryan: When are you riding to Chandrataal? How far is it and how are the roads?
Life is like riding a bike. It is impossible to maintain your balance while standing still.
