First thing : There was only 1 R15
Secondly: This is not the 1st R15 to Leh.

superb guys.. congrats..the title sure suits this thread. waiting for more pics.

I thought these are the 1st two r15s to land on LEH coz i haven't seen any LEH thread with R15 as ride yet...

I see 2 R15s doing here..

Sorry for the delayed posting guys... bit busy with the office work after a long leave...


This all started few months ago while i was sitting at home and trying to search for a jobs on the net and trying to apply online for the available jobs... in the process i came accross Rahul's blog xbhp id 'rahuldevnath' ( http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/5...m-45-days.html ) where he had done a K2K trip in 45days.
And thats how i cane accross a great community called XBHP.

Yes... i am a kind of a tourer who has travelled a bit but never thought of taking photos on the ride or keeping a map of the way i have to go or planning the trip etc. etc...., but after going through xbhp i decided to do a k2k ride...
First decided to take my bike by train to jammu and then ride it to Kanyakumari.. but later when i started a thread here mervin contacted stating that he wants to join me as well if m doing leh.
Then the plan again changed and i decided to Ride from Bangalore where in Mervin and Co. will be joining me from Delhi.
After lot of calculation and checking due to the Bikes safety even mervin wanted to ride from Pune.
Now comes a bit of shocking news to me, Mervin is doing it on a R15 that too with a Pillion.. this was shoking to me coz, i knew that r15 is a beast at the tracks but on the road to Leh...that too with a pillion...!!
I started calculating.. if we have an extra person we have to carry more luggege but less capacity to carry as we cannot pack the luggage on the R15 which will have the Pillion.
But lastly made up my mind and informed mervin that i will be in Pune by 22nd of Aug.

Got a call from one of my friend who stated that he will be visiting me.... as he came in he and few of my friends droped in to wish me good luck for the ride..
Time : 11:00 pm
Was not sure about the time and was busy chatting with friends as we met each other almost after 6 yrs of our school days
The D-Day
Date : 22nd Aug '09
Time : 4:30 am

Was Suppose to leave bangalore by 3:30am but got up late by 4:30 due to last nights delayed sleep
Got ready fast and packed up and was ready to roll by 5:30am
And then friends came to bid good buy,


By the time i started it was 6:15am and by 7:15 we were at Nelamangala where took a break to say good buy to one of my friend who came with me till there and started off to Pune by 8:00am.

After the toll gate from Nelamangala smooth road... but as soon as i reached the Tumkur bypass there was a huge traffic where i lost almost 20min of my time.




Rode till Davangere and felt that the engin was getting overheated so wanted to change the oil and when tried the nut broke so i was forced to take the bike to the service station
Where i lost a good 2hrs, after getting the Bike fixed and having Lunch started again but had to face a bit bad stretch for almost 200kms as the road was under construction
And by 4:30pm was in the outskirts of Belgam.
The Roads were butter smooth and i felt the need of a SBK to ride on these roads...
From here the roads were good it was raining which kept me and the bike cool.. So reached Pune by 11pm
Thanks to Mervin who was waiting for me on the HW and took me to their House.
